Brilliant Fxerclses of
Stephhen’s High School
The entertainments at the
.school building were well attend¬
ed, and many nice things have
been said about the manner in
which the pupils were trained.
The patrons and public are
highly pleased with the manner
in which the term was brought
to a close,
The primary grade held the
boards Monday evening, and de ¬
lighted the large audience with
the manner in which each ren¬
dered their parts.
The exercises Tuesday even¬
ing were heartily enjoyed. The
program was a brilliant one. The
cleveraciing and “make-up” of
the participants, in their various
characters,- were wonderfully
good. The piano and vocal solos
were excellently rendered and
showed off the well trained
pupils to the best advantage.
The exercises, from start to
finish were interesting and re¬
peatedly interrupted by ap¬
plause. Miss Wirsen played
with her usual brilliancy and
richly deserves the many com¬
pliments paid her.
The oratorical contest for the
gold medal, given by Miss Lola
Smith, was the feature of the
weeks’ entertainment. It oc¬
curred Wednesday evening.

Editor Boykin is very firm in
the belief that those 23,000 men
who voted for Mr. Watson
should be permitted to come
back into the next Democratic
primary. It is n->t known that
they are desirous of voting in
the primary. They are the kind
of folks that do not plead for
permission to do anything, polit
ically.
