Thomas Mimmigh, Secretary of Muni¬
cipal Court of the Ancient Order of
Foresters; also interested in the Red
Men and K. of P., and a rising young
politician, writes from 408 West 49th
street, New York:
“/ am glad to have an opportunity to
testify to the value of Peruna as a
tonic. I suffered from a disordered
stomach and a constant headache for
two or three years. This was accom¬
panied by a nervous irritation that
kept me in misery by day and by night.
I bad heard aag read so much about
Peruna that 1 decided to give it a trial.
After / bad taken Peruna regularly for
a month the symptoms alt disappeared.
To me it was like waking up from a
terrible nightmare. My stomach is
now in its natural condition. / eat
well and / sleep well. / take this op- I
portunity to recommend Peruna as a

“ROCK OF AGES”
Writing of tin: famous hymn “Rook of
Ages,” in the July Delineator. Allan
Sutherland says, “When the hymn was
written is not known, but wc may be
sure that it was nothing loss than Hie
voice of tho Almighty that inspiied the
author to write, words of such soul-stirr¬
ing power. The hymn first upped red,
iu an unfinished form, in the. Gospel
Magazine of October, 1775, and more
fully the succeeding year in the March
number of the same periodical. This
grand Christian, song lias had an enor¬
mous influence for good on humanity,
aud has been a favorite with many per¬
sons. When Prince Albert, the husband
of Cjneen Victoria, lay dying in Wind¬
sor Castle, almost bis last words were,
‘1 have hap wealth, power arid fame,
but if these were all that I had had,
what, would I have aowV’ And then he
was hear repeating softly and recently,
“Rook of Ages, cleft, for me’
‘Let me hide myself in Thee.’
Gladstone translated it into Italian,
Greek and Latin, hut not all translations
have been ns happy us his. A missionary
in India writes that he employed a
Hindoo scliolai to assist, him in translat¬
ing ‘Rock of Age-’ into the vernacular.
His suprise may he imagined when he
read, as the results of the effort of the
learned Oriental, the lir-d two lines:
‘Very old stone, ?plit, for my benefit,
Let me get imd r •me of vonr fragments.’
