“It Is with pleasure / recommend
Peruna as a splendid tonic to t'siy over¬
taxed persons. When the mind is
wearied the body will soon be worn
out also, but Peruna invigorates the
body and refreshes the mind. I have
also found it a relief in cases of severe
backache. We are never without it at
home, and consider it a household
blessing. "—Miss Maggie Becker.
Mrs. Christopher Fliehmann, Amster
dam, N. Y., writes:
“ I have been sick with catarrh of the
stomach and pelvic organs for about
five years and had many a doctor, but
none could help me. Some said 1 would
never get over it. In your almanac I
read of those who had been cured by
Peruna, then 1 thought I would try
It. I did, and found relief with the first
bottle I took, and after two more bottles
I was as well and strong as 1 ever was.”

CRAWFORDVILLE, GA., FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 1905.
Resolutions of Respect.
Tin following resolutions were
read and adopted at the last
meeting of Alex. Stephens camp
of Old Veterans:
Mr. ''hairir.au aud Follow Comrades:
Yiuu committee is proud to see so
many of cur foil ow comrades hereto
day. These meetings, growing dearer
to each one of us as tbo years come and
wane, will soon be only a memory to
those wo leave behind us.
•‘Ah well may we hope whoa this short
life is gone,
To meet in some world of more
manent bliss,
For a smile or a grasp of the hand
hastening on,
Is all we enjoy of each other in Ibis.”
Today as we grasp each others bauds
and look in each kindly face, with
hearts swelling with the clustoiing
men o:es"of the sixties, tbo sad thought
comes to each one of this camp that
since tlie last memorial day just one
short fleeting year—three of our number
have, answered the last roll call.
In compliance with the inexorable
lew, “dust to dust,” Comrades Louis D.
Shsrrer, Win, J. N'ortou and Jesse
Asbury have crossed over the tivor to
t > jmu the swolen tanks of comrades on
the other side.
Each one of these, our beloved com¬
rades, had turned his face towards life's
sunset. Each had honorably filled his
allotted place in life, mingling the good
v ith the evil. He has loved and been
beloved. He has been neighbor, friend,
husband, father citizen, aud when hi
country-culled, he barred bis bro.toL in
her defense. Now, serenely to his final
r-st each ono has passed.
While we sigh to think how sadly
death can sever human ties, the soft
, memory of their virtues linger “like twi
luhtliues when the bright sun has set.”
Whereas, Time foabids that we give
more than a passing individual notice
therefore,
LOUIS D. SHEiJREU.
JR solved, Louis D. Hliernr, a citizen
o’: Wilkes county, who c ist his lot with
us of Taliaferro after the war. We
knew him as a good and true citizen,
a high-toned and upright man, a gent e
mau of the old legime, a staunch fiieud,
a kind neighbor, an humble Christian.
As u soldier his date of enlistment
early in the first year of the war lie laid
down his arms with General Lee, Ah,
the hardships, the sufferings, tlio foot
sore marches, the carnival of death
marking these few years. From first to
Inst with the Irwin Artillery, that of
itself is enough! But on hearing of
Comrade Sinner’s death, Liedlenant
Irvin of his old command wrote, among
many other things, in his praise: “A
better soldier never inarched in the
ranks of the grey. He was a true gen¬
tleman, a brave and model soldier. He
was proud of his colors and true to his
comrades. Wherever tried he did his
ah-le duty. The Wingfield Camp min¬
gles its tcinow with you.”
JESSE ASBUIiY.
Iii the death of Comrade Jesse Asbury
our camp loses one of our most zealous
members—one who was always heart
and baud aud pi caet in sympathy with
the objects and intentions ol our Con¬
federate meetings and reunions. On
of the committee to draft our Constitu¬
tion and By-Laws, lie has always been
one of the most earnest and zealous in
his efforts to cultivate fri ndship, foster
fellowship an 1 go d will, and in every
way to add to the pi asnre and comfoi t
of Ills fellows. Always ronly and doing
his jipart towards keeping alive lm
toric memories, and t -i cherishing on
leaved memories of comrades who had
answered the last roll call.
