Playing for Position
The race for governor is along
ways off and there is plenty of
time to get into the running.
The leaders are playing for
positions now, and the auk and
tile might, wait to see what they
“stand for’’ oefure declaring
themselves. Georgia’s motto is
“Wisdom, Justice and Modem
lion,” and Georgians have not
been fast to run olf into the tle
vious paths. The conservative
element in Georgia will not fol¬
low after men who traduce their
neighbors and resort to clap-trap
talk about “reform, reform,”
when they know that such talk
is for political effect only, and
that it is t ie old cry of “stop
thief” by the “outs” against the
‘‘ins. ’ Let the campaign be
pitched upon a high plan, let the
Georgia sense and conservatism
be the guide of voters. In the
meantime let us lot the polii icians
do the sweating and the shouting
until the campaign really opens
next your.
