Mr. J. Ruff Kendrick will
serve a barbecue dinner at Sha¬
ron on Wednesday, July 9th.
Mr, Kendrick is noted for the
manner in which he serves his

will be furnished the ladies, and
the gentlemen will not be neg¬

Death of Mrs.
M. T. Gilbert.
Mrs. Mamie Hamumck Cil
, bert, wife of Mr. M. T. Gilbert,
j of Crawfordville. died Saturday
at 12:30 P. M. at the Presbyte¬
rian Hospital, Atlanta. The sad
news was received with profound
sorrow. It will be remembered
that Mrs. Gilbert was taken to
Atlanta several weeks ago, where
an operation was performed, and
from which the most encourag¬
ing reports wore received. Her
condition took a change for the
wot so and a second operation
was performed Friday, death
lollowing as stated. For weeks
she was a great sufferer and re¬
alized her condition,yet made an
heroic light to live for the sake
el her loved ouob though no re¬
bellion against the Fathers
will. Mrs. (Libert was a young
woman of noble character, ten
der hearted, and charitable to a
kmlt. Elio was a devoted mem¬
ber of the Presbyterian church.
Besides her husband, s h e
leaves a sister Mrs. W. \V. Bird
and one brother, Dr. W. F.
Ham mack, of Atlanta.
The funeral services took
place Sunday afternoon at three
o’clock and wore conducted by
Rev. W. Lee Harold. His re
marks were •and
beautiful.
