The agent at this place sold
over 1200 tickets for Sharon Sun¬
day, on account of the colored
campmeeting. The fare was 30
cents, the road realizing about
$60.00 just for these tickets.
Tax Collector W. O. Wright
has rented the John II. Steph¬
ens residence, and will move* to
Crawfordville. Mr.Wright and
family will be quite an acquisi¬
tion to our city.
The children and grand-ciiil
dren of Dr. and Mrs. L. M. An¬
drew, of Bethany, dined with
them Thursday. Rev. J. H.
Kilpatrick, of White Plains, was
among those present.
The many friends here of Dr.
and Mrs. M. P. Deadwyler, of
Maysville,sympathize with them
in the death of their week-old
son, John Gorham. The death
occurred Saturday,
Miss Carolyn Brake is now
with Mrs. C. Bergstrom, and
will be glad to serve her many
friends, when they are in need
of anything in the millinery line.
Miss Mary Leila Wirsen pass¬
ed through Crawfordville Mon¬
day on her way to Waynesboro,
and was greeted by a large num¬
ber friends and former pupils.
Her friends here will be interest¬
ed to know that she has accept¬
ed a splendid position as teacher
of music and oratory at Waynes¬
boro. She is possessed of un¬
usual ability, and we feel assur
ed of her success in her new
home.
A Quiet Heme Maraiage.
Much interest is manifested in
the announcement of the mar¬
riage of Mrs. Hattie C. Smith to
Mr. Joseph W. Farmer, which
occurred Tuesday afternoon at
the home of Mr. W. C. Chapman.

This marriage came as a sur¬
prise aud only the immediate
family and a few intimate
friends were present.
Mrs. Farmer is a woman of
culture mid refinement. Her
sweet, amiable disposition is
recognized by all who know her.
Mr. Farmer is a man of wealth
and prominence in the business
world. That he is worthy of his
bride is the praise that is his.

half interest in the old Mercier
lot from Mr. R. L. Hadaway.
Mr. John Callahan purchased
the residence on above mention

Holden. The amount paid was

Mr. R. A. Evans purchased
residence and plantation of Mr.
S. A. Daniel,
It is understood that Mr. Dan¬
iel will move to Crawfordville.
Judge M. Z. Andrews, repre¬
senting a Northern loan compa¬
ny, has disposed of the Mitchell
tract of land to a Mr. Hollis,-of
Morgan county. The amount
paid was $7 per acre. There is
about 900 acres in the tract.

The Road Force.
Mr. Joseph Mann, with his
road force, is pulling down the
big hill near Mr. Fielding Hills’,
below Sharon. The town of
Sharon is also having a nine-foot
culvert erected at that .place.
Mr. Mann is now working six
convicts, with Ed. Howell as day
guard and Robert Moore as night
guard,
Miss Marie Davis, of Tampa,
Fla., who recently visited rela
tivesat Bethany, extended her
visit to Atlanta last week, where
she was married Monday eve¬
ning to Mr. Guy Hancock, of
that place. The couple are
well known in this county.
We learn that Dr. J. A. Rhodes
will move to Crawfordville, and
occupy his residence recently
vacated by Mr. J. II. Rhodes.
Miss Myra Harrison, of Sandy
Cross, is boarding with Mrs. L.
A. Brake and attending Stephens
High School.
