We wero on Peachtree street
and watched Teddy do stunts
along that magnificent thor¬

About a year ago, most of those
same people. were pawing

president as the rankest speci¬
men of negro equality. Who
has changed? The president or
the Southern people. Or was
the demonstration typical of
Southern chivalry and hospital¬

THANKFUL FOR.
We are all bound to confess
(o an admiration for the man
who preaches and practices the
doctrine that he believes iu liv¬

live at the same time. A ml, also,
that this is a free country and
that every man has a right to
think for himself and vote as he
thinks. And, again, that every
man has a right to worship God
according to the dictates of his
own conscience. We are thank¬

not in control of this govern¬

A LARGE ROBY OF PEOPLE FOR THE SOUTH.
A Colony of Ten Thousand people ts now being o organized in the. North for the purpose
of settling in the South build o
to a city indianapolis and fanning Indiana. community. This movement is under the
management of P. H. Fitzerald, of Mr. Fitzerald is the founder of
the large Colony of Northed People, who few i
a years ago, earn edown from tfm North and lo¬
cated Ten Thousand People in (Georgia. They foimed a city and a fruit farming industry,
lhe city was called Fitzerald, and is now located In Irwin County, Georgia.
The Colony proved a great success, when today, those people are doing well. The new
c *t7 is well built up, has several banks, chinches, schoo's and many industries, besides four
'railroads entering the New city.
Having made that location a grand fuceess Mr Fitzgerald Jigs been solicited to run
another one, audit is now being organized at Indianapolis, Indiana. There is no reason why
this state should not secu-e Mbs large body of people. Mr. Fitzgerald proposes to leave the
ocation to a committee of member.* of tue colony company, as soon as it is organized and
formed; this Mii- . committee will come South to look for a suitable locaation.
His plans are on a Mutual Stock Company basis—purchase $ a large body of lSfnd forming a
city, and laying the laud off into tracts of various sizes, for truck and farm use. The members are
given first choice of what they wish, either lots in the city or land tracts. After the New City is
formed, the lands around it are divided up into 5-acre (tracts, near and around the city. Next comes
ten-acre tracts, then forty, and then eighty-acre farms. Mr. Fitzgerald says lie will require some
50,000 acres of land. To get so large a body, he expects to purchase plantations. Tne lands are
all divided up and given direct to the members, go each member gets a deed for his own lots of land.
Under his plan it gives people of moderate means opportunity to own their own homes, witli but
very little cost to them. Full plans can be had by addressing Col. P. H. Fitzgerald, 46 Fitzgerald
