Barn Burned.
The barn, belonging to the
place at which Mr. Jack Hubert
resides, and owned by Judge H.
M. Holden, was destroyed by
tire Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Hubert lost quite a quant¬
ity Judge of forage, Holden, potatorV^tc. besides the
barn, lost some forage.

Judge Holden estimates his
loss at about $300.00.
Extra Side Track.
The Georgia railroad will, so
we have been told, inaugurate
the block system. This will
necessitate the building of extra
sidetracks three-quarters of a
mile long every ten miles.
There wdl bj a side track p ut
in here. It will start on the
north side of the track, just be¬
low the depot, and extend three
quarters of a mile east. This
will cause it to extend as far as
the house where Sheriff Edwards
lived till a few weeks ago.
Head Split Open.
John Alexander had bis head
split open with an axe in the
hands of George Swain, at the
Edge place, Tuesday eight. It
is said that Swain caught Alex
ander in a compromising posi¬
tion with his wife. Aloxande-i
