SOUTH GEORGIA
OflVrs greater inducements to the homeseeker than any other section of tlie
I iiion. It is a section where one can farm every month in the year, and
\\ here people do not depend upon a single crop for a living. A greater diver¬
sity of crops can be grown than in any other section—corn, cotton, oats, rye,
rice, sugar cane, melons, all kinds of lruit and vegetables. The soil is exceed¬
ingly fertile, the temperature (summer and winter) perfect, the rainfall ample
lor all purposes, fuel abundant, building material cheap, offering the greatest
agricultura. inducements. The land is level and free from rocks, easily culti¬
vated, and two crops can be produced in a year. Hundreds of North Georgia
and Carolina farmers have within the past few years settled m South Georgia
and are realizing the advantages of that section. There are thousands of acres
oi unimproved farm lands, convenient to railroad and market, which can be
Uyught for $3 to $10 per acre. The Georgia Southern & Florida Railway runs
through the center of South Georgia, and its Immigration and Industrial De¬
partment will promptly answer all inquiries from parties seeking locations for
homes and investment. Write to

AUTUMN TIME.
.Despite the pleasant hays that have passed aloug the way.
Despite the good old summer’s many charms,
There comes upon the spirit in the season of the hay
A feeling of exqu site peace and calm.
The haze of Indian Summer stretches out across the hills,
The mocking bird is singing in the grove.
Into the human heart the autum.u time instills
A feeling of contentment, peace and love.
Nature now begins t< change her dress to gaudy hues;
There’s a feeling jx sweet sadness in the air.
The violets now will l eave us. the daisies we will lose,
And the forests will be leafless, bleak and bare.
Now, the autumn’s evening twilight is the best of all the day,
For tis then that all of nature sinks to rest.
As the harvest moon looks down ; t seems to me to say:
“In the fall I’m at my finest and ray best.”
Now the autumn’s rignt among us with its pleasure and its pain,
And Thanksgivin * Day and Christmas come apace;
So we'ii labor on, rejoicing that the fall has come again,
And thank the Great Redeemer for his grace.
