Morgan McMichael left here last
week for Savannah, to engage in
business, informs us this week that

main for some time. Morgan is a

Mr. R. A. Marshall, who took or¬

The Ladies Aid Society have on

General Gordon, honored our city
with an address. The address was
delightfully appreciated by many

Saturday. Robert had to go out in
tlie middle of it and take a horse
from a buggy.
Miss L. says she enjoys reading
the Items from Robert very much
as they are so spicy. I guess it is a
little of her taffey.
Mrs. Rouse, of Andersonvilie, was
in our city tlie first of the week.

A few of our boys and girls will
go down to the picnic to-morrow in
Andersonvilie. Hope we will see
some Putnam and Ellaville folks.
Miss Minnie Walters after a pleas¬
ant visit to Bainbridge and Tucker
Station returned home Saturday
day evening. We are all glad to
Miss Minnie at home.
Our picnic was enjoyed
much by all who attended, the
draw back of the pleasure of one
the young ladies was that C. P.
S. W. and W. IL, were absent.
Mr. Glasscock, of Maysville,
is stopping here on his
home from Tallahassee, Fla. It
'said that the heart of a young
whose name begins with N., is
much gratified.
Miss Annie Miller after a
delightful visit to relatives and
friends returned to her home in
Augusta, accompanied by Master
L. C. Greer, it was all that Robert
could do to keep from going.

The Tournament.
Quite a number of our citizens
went to Americus last Thursday to
witness the display of the different
fire companies. There were pres-

The time made by the different
companie was very good. Our posi-
tion for witnessing the exercises

beautiful city of Americus. We al¬
so had a pleasant talk with General
Gordon, who is a candidate for Gov-
ernor.

Arnold, the young man who died
of consumption this week, left Mr.
James Comer a legacy of $10,000 in
his will as a token of his regard for
that gentleman and the kindness of
Mr. Comer for him during his long
illness. The money could not have
been bestowed on a more deserving
gentleman than Jim Comer. Mr.
Arnold was a young man, his estate
is worth upwards of $66,000.
