This home with its lovely flower garden and handsomely trimmed cedars, nest ling beneath a large grove of magnifi cent oaks, on which the moon-light gently fell, presented a picture that is indescribably beautiful, and several of the couples embraced the opportunity of viewing this scene, by promonad ng the front walks and leaning on the gate; Here we lingered until the time for our departure, and loath were we to leave surroundings that will ever be cheerish ed in our memories. One of’ em. Orbituary. Died, in Ellaville, Ga., of cholera in fantum, July 28th, 1889, Ernest Augus tus, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dix in. Tlie little bud was lent to us for only six months, but had entwined itself so fondly around our hearts, and became so much a part of our being, that when the angel came to bear it heavenward, the blow was almost too heavy to be borne. The mother’s wail of anguish over tho baby’s empty crib; the constant aching arms to gather again the little one to her bosom; the heart aches and heart long mgs tor only a touch of the tittle lingers; oh, babyless mother, you can bear sym pathy with the believed ones. But God knows best. He gave it, lie took it. * Such a little break in the sod! So tiny to be a grave! Oh! how can 1 render so soon to God The beautiful gift he gave. Must 1 put you away, my pet, My tender bad unblown, With the dew of tho morning upon you yet. And your blossom all unshorn? How shall T know my own Where the air is white with wings? My baby, so soon from my bosom iiown To the angels’ ministering . My heart is near to break. And this is the end of it all! Only a iitile funeral pall And empty arms again. Oh, baby, my heart is sore For the lit' e that was to be; For the untried dream of love, now o’er, ’Twi ■ t thee, my child, and me. Y r et o’er this little head, Lying so stiil and sweet, [ should thank my God for the Life of the dead, For the joy of the soul set free. T’is a weary world tit best, The world that lie will not know. Would I wake him out of such perfect rest For its sorrows and strife? Ah! no. Escaped arc its thorns and haims. The on ly path he has trod that which leads from his mother’s ai ms Into the arms of God. Ba^e Ball. A match game of base ball was play on the green in front of Mi'- Murray's P.
