Mr. Editor: If you could conveniently get our mail off Friday via Buena Vista, we could get it at Tazwell, Schley, Mur rays Cross Roads, and Poindexter, all tlie same day I think that would give general satisfaction. The crop of corn is the best that wo have had for several years, I know of a 20 acre held that will a verage 15 bushels to the acre and Mr. John Morisoi] SUVA that when this country was hist being settled up the entire lot of land was bought for one galon of corn Whisky and soon afterwards was sold for a yoke of small oxene, there is five acres-that made one bale of cotton to the acre. I know of seviral farmers over here that have made 20 bushels to the acre this year and yet this district is known by tlie name of Nubbin Hili. The boys 0 vcr*here while passing by br m . ar tllH Cross Roads rein up their 1 horses , heads , , until their . front . feet can scarcely touch the ground, but they have lo get there all the same. Wishing the News greater success I am yours respectfully. Ta. A. Cf. [The News leaves here on or before Friday of every week.
