01070 Local and Personal. | Miss Aldiue Peacock is visiting at Cordele. Miss Halley of Tazewell is visit ing Miss Iua Williams. Miss Ida Munro, of Putnam, spent Sunday with relatives here. Mr. Horace Stewart, of Mercer University, is visiting relatives in Ellaville. Mrs. T. V. Bridges is spending the holidays with relatives in Americus. It is impossible for us to mention all who are visiting and being vis ited this week. Capt. and Mrs. G. W, Chipley, of Columbus, are visiting Major and Mrs. E. S. Baldwin. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Chapman, of Columbus, are the guest of Mr. J. B. Williamson’s family. Owing to the inclement weather there were no services at the Meth odist church last Sunday. If noth ing providential interposes, there will be preaching by the pastor next Sunday at 11 a. m. Miss Zelma Barge, a beautiful young lady of Atlanta, is visiting Miss Marie Williumson. Williamson was the scene of an event of much interest Tuesday evening, the occasion being the marriage ot their daughter, Miss Minnie Lou Williamson to Mr. E. E. Collins, The ceremony took place at 6; 15 o’clock p. in., Rev. D. I). Batemtn officiated in a graceful and impressive manner. The wedding march was skillfully rendered by Miss Eva Strange. Many relatives and a few intimate friends who had been invited were present. Immediately after the ceremony the guests were invited into the dining room where every thing that could tempt and satisfy the appetite had been prepared. Here the guests were highly enter tained, the menu being an elabor ate one. The happy couple were recipients of many elegant ar.d useful gifts. The groom, Mr. E. E. Collins, is prominent young merchant at Bronwood, a young man of many sterling traits of character. Miss Williamson, the bride, is one of Ellaville’s sweetest young ladies, and is greatly be loved by a large circle of friends who regret her departure from this place. Mr. and Mrs. Collins left on the 9’,40 train yesterday morn ing for their future home at Bron wood. The News joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy life. The new train is a mixed local freight and will leave Ameri cas every morning ut 6:45 a. m. arrive Ellaville 7 =40 a. m. arrive at Columbus at 10:45 a. m. Return ing it will leave Columbus at 3:15 arrive at Ellaville 6 :20 p. m. reach Americas at 7:15. The present train will be made a mixed through freight with coaches, and will stop at all sta tions as heretofore. It will leave Columbus at 7 ;o6 a. m. reach Ella ville 9:40 a. m. arrive at Americus 10 135 a. in. an hour earlier than the the old schedule. Returning it leaves Americus at 3 ;oo p. m. an hour later than usual and reach es Ellaville at 3 44 p. m. arrives at Columbus at 6 -.30. There will be no change in the schedule of the Sunday train.
