rily. The first kiln of brick will
be burned next week and the foun-
dation is nearly finished.

The latest “victim of tobacco”
is a sad ease. He is seventy years
old, Iras smoked for sixty years,
and last week he married A woman
forty years his senior. Tobacco
smoking had affected his brain.-Ex.
Prof. L. B. Millican’s school is
progressing finely, ile has about
50 enrolled scholars and expects
to have that number increased
soon. This is a splendid location
and we ought to build up a school
here that would have more than
| local reputation and patronage.
Such an enterprise might easily be
sustained here if our people could
once get their own consent to go
to work as they ought. But two
or three can do nothing; ‘ the pa-
