Life is a mystery. Philosophers

Who can say? Men have specu¬

“Beyond the grave all is dark.
Wlio will tell Us its secrets?”
The unreasoning barbarian who

Both assert what they have

Capital would find a generous
response to any effort it might
j make in the way of a summer re-
i sort in Jasper. A great many
! more people than can he accommo-
I dated under the existing circum¬
stances apply for board here during
the hot months. There is not a
doubt but what an investment of
this kind would meet with un¬
bounded success. The climate is
well-nigh perfect, the air and wa¬
ter cool and refreshing, the peo¬
ple generous and industrious, and
the products of the country are of
such’ variety and quantity as to
afford an abundance of refresh¬
ments the entire season. It has
been a surprise to us all the time
why some steps have not been
taken to prepare Jasper and the
surrounding country for the ac¬
commodation of those people who
wish to enjoy the pleasures of an
Italian climate and be within ea»y
teach of their homes and their
business.
The Macon Kvctlihg News says:
“Now that the summer is here,
only a month or so will elapse be¬
fore the city will begin to be de¬
serted. The eastern, northern and
western resorts will be populated
at out' expense. A great many
people are forced, however, remain
within easy communication of
Macon, and these are specially in¬
terested in the Georgia resoVts.
What these will amount ttt this
season in unknown. Thht first-
class accommodation for such peo¬
ple could be made to pay is cer¬
tain, and it is a surprise that
shrewd capital does not seek such
investment."
Slight derarigements ol the
stomach and bowels ma) often be
corrected by taking only one of
Ayer’s Pills. Through not having
the pills at hand, your disorder in*
creases, and a regular fit of Sick¬
ness follows. "For the want of a
nail, the shoe was lost, etc.”
