Chattanooga, Tenn., is the com-
ing metropolis of the South, says
an exchange. Immense wealth is
being poured into that city from
the north and west, and the enter-
prise of this southern town is un¬
bounded. They have dummy lines
which rim for miles in the suburbs,
incline cable roads, and will soon
have an electric road. The heights
around Chattanooga are feeling
the. progressive touch, in resi-
deuces as well as mining. A com-
pany has already been formed to
convey water to the heights. It
is pumped from the city water
works ; nto a stand p , pe 60 feet
making the total height
pumped 43D f eet . Chattanooga is
progressive, indeed.
