we will provide FREE removal
of easily accessed appliances
and junk cars.
Scrap tires (4 per family
maximum) will be accepted at
the Jones Mountain Landfill
FREE every Saturday during
the whole month of April.
If you have non-working
appliances or a vehicle you
would like to recycle please call
the KPB office at 706-253-3600.
Leave your name and telephone
number, KPB will call you back
and set up a time for your pick
up.
The appliance pickups will be
Saturday April 10th and 17th.
There is a $15 charge for refrig
erators and air conditioners.
The cleanup campaign is a
nation wide effort to improve
the environment and beautify
our great nation. Please do
your part to make this another
great success by doing more in
2004.

and Grandson
to be featured
at Gratitudes in
Helen
Gratitudes is pleased to host Dr.
Shelia W. Frances, a local writer,
and her grandson, Jacob A. Keithley,
on Saturday, April 10th at 4 p.m.
Shelia and grandson, Jacob, will
share select passages of their person
al writings that include poetry and
narratives that reflect both fiction
and personal experiences.
In addition to creative writing,
Shelia enjoys motorcycling and is
president of a local women’s motor
cycle club.
She has shared her writings in
large conferences and small groups
across several states. She lives in
North Georgia where she shares a
home with her partner.
Jacob lives with his Mom in Las
Vegas, Nevada where he is a 4th
grade elementary school student.
Jacob and Grandma, Shelia, share
common interests of motorcycling,
geography and maps as well as cre
ative writing.
Come by Gratitudes on Saturday
afternoon to enjoy the fine food and
readings by Jacob and Shelia,
Grandson and Grandmother. For

to the former Jill Christian. Togeth
er, they are the proud parents of
Madeleine, Mary Anna, and
Edward. Residents of Dawson
County for 16 years, the Pearsons
worship at Amicalola Baptist
Church, where Chip teaches Sun
day School.

The successful candidate must have a baccalau
reate degree or higher and a minimum of five
years work experience in industry, preferable in
mining or a mining related business or industry.
This full time director will be responsible for devel
oping, marketing, and delivering mine safety and
health training for Georgia miners and mining con
