We're off to perform the wizard
Tater Patch auditions for summer production announced
Tater Patch players will be holding auditions
for The Wizard of Oz on May 4 &5 from 6:30 - 9
p.m. at Pickens High School auditorium. There
are part for children and adults, men and women,
both singing and non-singing.
Robert Countryman will be directing the show
and holding the auditions. The performances
will be at the high school on June 24-27.
If you would like to be in the show but will
not be available for those perfomance dates,
please audition anyway. There is a good possibil
ity that there we will be able to do another run of
the show in Canton in August and there may be
parts available for that performance.
If you wish to sing, please bring either a CD
or cassette or your music. If you do not have
one, our accompanist will also be there and we
will be able to sing some numbers from the Wiz
ard.
Children should be accompanied by an adult.
If you are interested in working in a non-per
forming capacity -- props, costumes, publicity,
stage hand, etc — please come by auditions and
leave your name, number and interests, or email
rocki3@juno.com with your contact information
and interests. Experience not required, only
enthusiasm!

Mountainside Medical Center celebrates
National Laboratory Week
National Laboratory Week was
April 18-23. Laboratory Profession
als work with you for better health.
Clinical Laboratory profession
als are key members of today's
health care team and your quality
medical care depends on them.
Everyday, nurses, physicians and
other medical workers rely on labo
ratory professionals to perform tests
on bodily fluids, interpret the
results and help provide a complete
picture of a patient's health.
Without this precise and valu
able information, medicine would
simply become guesswork. Labo
ratory professionals work in a vari
ety of settings from hospitals, doc
tors' offices, research laboratories
or community relations health fairs.
Whatever the settings may be these
professionals are by your side,
working to diagnose, treat and pre
vent disease.
Mountainside Medical Center
has a full service lab that operates
24-hours a day, 7-days a week.
They have a blood bank (they
receive all units from the American
Red Cross), full chemistry depart
ment, hemotology and coagulation
services. The lab also does routine
drug, workman’s compensation and
pre-employment screenings. They
have contracts with over 50 compa
nies to conduct these procedures.
The pathologist on staff is Dr.
Richard Fingerle and all of the lab’s
equipment is state-of-the-art.
The staff is made up of Medical
Technologists, Medical Laboratory
Technicians and Phlebotomists. A
