We would like to share the follow
ing poem:
Why God Made Little Boys
God made a world out of his dreams
Of magic mountains, oceans and
streams
Prairies and plains and wooded land.
Then paused and thought, “I need
someone to stand
On top of the mountains, to conquer
the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the
trees.
Someone to start out small and
grow,
Sturdy and strong like a tree” and so
He created boys, full of spirit and
fun
To explore and conquer, to romp and
run
With dirty faces and banged up
chins
With courageous hearts and boyish
grins.
And when He completed the task
He’d begun
He surely said, “That’s a job well
done.”

Happy Ramblers
This week was our regular
club meeting, just a week late
because of last week’s trip to
Asheville. We met at the Plum
Thicket, Sue’s home. We had lots
of pictures to show of our cruise,
Jim’s birthday, Don and Marilyn’s
anniversary, the Biltmore House
and many of the springtime trips
we have taken. We love pictures
and I can’t understand those who
don’t. I once talked to a man who
said if he couldn’t just remember
it, he didn’t care anything about
seeing a picture. We all enjoy
looking back at picture of good
times and people we love. There
seems to be a great number of
people who are having health
problems and we try to send “Get
Well Cards” to those we know
about.
We had ham, chicken, chicken
casserole, squash, beans, mixed
greens, three kinds of potato salad,
okra, salad, many, many more
dishes and desert, desert, desert! It
was great. The roll was answered
with a springtime memory. One
lady told of her daughter when she
was very small cried and cried on
the first day of spring and when
she finally got her to tell what the
problem was she said, “Today is
the first day of spring it should be
warm now and it is so cold!”
Another told of how much fun
they would have when she came to
visit Sue and they would slip and
wade the branch even though they
knew you were not suppose to do
that until the 1st day of May! We
all went home with at least one
prize from the games we played.
Plans were made for some upcom
ing outings and the meeting came
to an end.
