Healed and Whole
One day we dug a little hole
and put our hurt inside
We thought that we could
just forget
We’d put it there to hide.
But that little hurt began to grow
We covered it every day
We couldn’t leave it and go on
It seemed the price we had to pay.
Our joy was gone, our
hearts was sad
Pain was all we knew.
Our wounded souls enveloped us
Loving seemed too hard to do.
One day, while standing by our hole
We cried to God above
And said, “If You are really there-
They say, You're a God of love!”
And just like that - He was
right there
And just put His arms around us
He wiped our tears, His hurting
children
There was no safer place to be.
We told Him all about our hurt
We opened up our hearts
He listened to each and every word
To every sordid part.
We dug down deep and got our hurt
We brushed the dirt away
And placed it in the Master’s hand
And healing came that day.
He took the blackness of our souls
And set our spirits FREE!
Something beautiful began to grow
Where the hurt used to be.
And when we look at what
has grown
Out of our tears and pain
We remember every day to give
our hurts to Him
And
UUl J1U1 to IW 111111
never bury them again.
