Happy Ramblers
Today was our club meeting
day and we met at Annette’s home
in Cams Mill. We got started with
some funny reading, poems and
such, before the whole group had
even arrived. It is always interest
ing to hear who has gone some
where special, found some really
good bargains, had kids and/or
grandkids doing special things and
just what has been going on in
each others’ daily life. We all
know that we are each one inter
ested in what is happening in the
others’ life.
I wish you could have been
there for dinner! There was ham,
turkey, dressing, green beans,
leather britches, the best cooked
cabbage I’ve ever eaten, corn,
potatoes oriental, deviled eggs,
salads, peach pie, peach pudding,
Italian creme cake, chocolate
delight, fruit salad, fresh fruit tray
and so much food this is just a
sampling of the dishes that were
served. It was simply great. We
answered the roll with May mem
ories, some of the things men
tioned were the May Pole, being
able to take off undershirts, wear
ing white shoes, wading the
branch on the first day of May,
getting married, honeymooning in
Monroe, Ga. just after WW2 II. It
is always so neat to hear the sto
ries that are told at this time. We
made plans for some short trips
this month and then played Bingo.
Annette had prizes for everyone,
so we all went home with full
tummies and a neat surprise!
