Autumn Hill Nursery to host Pink Day Fundraiser
Restaurant Report
Inspected: 8/27/10 placed.
Part of Proven Winners Invincibelle® Spirit
garden center campaign to raise $1 million for
Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 2010
Autumn Hill Nursery &
Landscaping will host Pink Day,
a breast cancer fundraiser, on
Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m.-4
p.m. as part of the Invincibelle®
Spirit Campaign to raise $1 mil
lion for the Breast Cancer Re
search Foundation (BCRF). The
event is open to the public and
will be located at Autumn Hill
Nursery & Landscaping, 4256
Eamey Road.(off 140) in the
Hickory Flat area of Woodstock.
The public is invited to dress
in pink clothing and costumes
and participate in contests (this
includes you men too). There
will also be a raffle for a Front or
Back Yard Garden Design (in
cludes $100 gift certificate to
wards plants) donated by Owners
Eric and Kari Hill. Also, a beau
tiful homemade quilt will be raf
fled off. Two members of the
staff - Diane Rempfer, manager,
and Sharee Riggs made the quilt
this summer with the help of
Diane’s mom, Clara Schmitt.
Tickets are on sale now for $1
each or for every $5, you get one
free. We’ll also have a scavenger
hunt, a ballroom dance demon
stration, door prizes, food and
fun for everyone.
“We chose to get involved in
this campaign because breast
cancer is a cause that is close to
many of our customers. Approx
imately 1 in 8 women run the
risk of developing breast cancer
at some point in her life, so we
all know someone who has been
affected by this disease. Hosting
this event is a great opportunity
to have fun and raise money for
a good cause,” said Eric Hill,
owner of Autumn Hill Nursery &
Landscaping. “Our goal is to
raise $2,500 by donating 10% of
our sales for the day plus $5 of
every Invincibelle Spirit Hy
drangea sold.” Like the women
who have survived breast cancer,
this new hydrangea is resilient
and can withstand extreme con
ditions. It blooms from mid-sum
mer to fall, even after harsh
winters, making it a wonderful
pink addition for your garden.
“We’re thrilled to partner with
the Breast Cancer Research
Foundation for this event be
cause they have been consis
tently recognized as one of the
top rated cancer organizations.
For every dollar the BCRF re
ceives, a minimum of 85 cents
goes towards research and
awareness programs, so we
know the money is going to the
right place to help find a cure for
breast cancer in our lifetime,”
concluded Eric Hill.
