Chamber unveils new logo

The Pickens County Chamber
of Commerce pulled the drape on
a new logo design at their Sept.
14 breakfast at Chattahoochee
Technical College. The design is
the result of months of careful
planning and revision and was
officially presented by members
of the Chamber’s Public Rela
tions Committee. The board of
directors approved the new logo
design at the August board meet
ing which ended a process that
dated back to last year when
Chamber representatives decided
that a new logo would help to
further distinguish the chamber’s
recent branding efforts which in
clude a new tagline, mission
statement and official chamber
colors.
It is also no coincidence that
the unveiling coincided with the
upcoming Georgia Marble Festi
val. “The unveiling of the new
design just prior to the Marble
Festival was part of an integrated
effort to put a new foot forward
for the Chamber,’ said Denise
Duncan, executive president of
the Pickens Chamber. “With this
being the 30th anniversary of the
festival, what better time to roll
out our new look.” It should be
noted that the new logo will not
completely replace the existing
logo. The old logo will become
the official Pickens Chamber
‘seal’ and will still be visible on
many official documents and sig
nage. “The new logo is basically
the beginning of a new era at the
Chamber,” said Dave Gamer,
Chair of the PR Committee. “We
wanted to produce a logo that
was consistent with our new mis
sion statement and future vision
and felt that this particular design
achieved our purpose.” The new
logo has already been printed on
T-shirts, some of which were
given away as door prizes at the
breakfast. This new design will
soon be integrated into the cham
ber Web site and other marketing
materials. Chamber representa
tives also encourage member
businesses and citizens to be on
the look out for the new design at
this year’s Georgia Marble Fes
tival and other upcoming events.

Rendezvous, Inc. is to support
sustainable lifestyles and com
