Sharptop Arts Association Members Show reception a hit
CarolMassey’s artwork entitled “Still. ”
By Dee Anne Boggus
On Friday, Oct. 8, Sharptop
Arts Association held a reception
for our annual Members Show
that is currently on display this
month at the Center. Sharptop
Arts Center is located in down
town Jasper behind the Old Jail
on D.B. Carroll Street, and is
open every month on Thursdays,
Fridays and Sundays from noon-
4 and on Saturdays from 10-2.
This year’s Members Show has
multiple artworks by over 40
local artists and most all are for
sale.
The show reception started at
5 p.m. with fun, great art, won
derful free refreshments and so
much socializing that many did
not want to leave at our 7:30
closing time. Even though we
had over 100 in attendance for
the show reception, SAA would
like to invite everyone to come
view this Members Show, be
cause the exhibit is the largest
and most varied in art media and
style so far this year. This year
the SAA Members Show is spon
sored by Jeff and Sandy Down
ing and Foothills IGA, and we
would like to thank them for
making this event possible.
Jasper’s Kroger also helps out
with refreshments as our recep
tion partner each time we host an
exhibit.
Attendance to the show is
free, so stop by during our busi
ness hours and vote for the Peo
ple’s Choice Award to be given
to the artwork with the most
votes at the end of the show on
Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. For more de
tailed information about these
events and the many fun classes
offered through the Sharptop
Arts Association, call us during
our business hours at 706-692-
