Cricket wins
Most BeautifulPet for 2010!
After a hard fought battle,
with very creative campaigning,
Cricket was declared the winner
of the Most Beautiful Pet contest
for 2010. Barbara Neiderhiser
was very inventive in winning
votes for Cricket by making goat
shaped cookies and taking
Cricket to the Farmers’ Market.
We congratulate Cricket for earn
ing $427.75 for Pickens Animal
Rescue.
Cricket’s story was very com
pelling due to her injuries and re
covery. She serves as an
inspiration to everyone who
hears her story. Many people
who saw Cricket’s picture com
mented on her patriotic attire.
We have heard a rumor that
Cricket will make an appearance
in costume at the Halloweenie &
Boo-Kitty Shot Clinic on Oct. 29
at PAWS on Main. Come meet
our Most Beautiful Pet for 2010.
Second place was Sandy, a
West Highland White Terrier.
Sandy’s total was $375. Overall,
the Most Beautiful Pet Contest
made $1120.75 for Pickens Ani
mal Rescue. Everyone at PAR
would like to thank Cricket,
Sandy, Maeve, Pandora, Tommy,
Max, Pearl, Belle, Sugar, Kylie,
Boots (the cat), Mac, Baby,
Boots (the dog), Mater Man and
Gizmo for their contributions to
help homeless dogs and cats.
The gauntlet has been thrown
for next year’s contest. Cricket
and Sandy and all the other con
testants would like to see more
money made to help Pickens An
imal Rescue next year. Watch for
announcements! Don’t forget
Pickens Animal Rescue’s 4th An
nual Fur Ball on Nov. 6 at Chat
tahoochee Tech.
Cricket the goat takes home the Most Beautiful Pet award.
