Drug task force, sheriff deputies bust meth supplier
MONEY AND METH - Drugs and cash seized by the drug task
force and sheriff deputies earlier this month.
On October 8th Drug Task
Force Agents along with Pickens
County Sheriff’s deputies exe
cuted a search warrant at a resi
dence on Duckett Lane in Marble
Hill. This search warrant was a
result of a one month investiga
tion into the distribution of
Methamphetamine, according to
a press release from Drug Task
Force Commander Brandon
Owens.
The task force had been re
ceiving information that Ricky
Phillips and Amanda Bell were
distributing the drug from the
Marble Hill home, stated Owens.
During the course of the investi
gation it was determined that the
Methamphetamine was being de
livered to the residence by
Richard Timothy Parker, age 50,
of Waleska, stated the press re
lease.
The approximate delivery
date and time was narrowed
down. When the warrant was ex
ecuted six grams of Metham
phetamine were located along
with $1,000. Ricky Phillips, 29,
of Duckett Lane was arrested and
charged with Possession of
Methamphetamine with the In
tent to Distribute. Amanda Bell,
31, Duckett Lane; Aubry Hoover,
24, Woodstock; and Fred Kelly,
44 Cumming; were arrested and
charged with Possession of
Methamphetamine, stated
Owens press release.
While the search was being
conducted Parker pulled into the
driveway. Parker was found to be
in possession of over 40 grams of
Methamphetamine, and had
more than $10,000 cash in his
vehicle. The approximate street
value of the Methamphetamine is
$3,000, the press release stated.
“We have heard Parker’s
name from several sources that
have ties in different parts of the
county. With his arrest, we have
sent more than one individual
hunting for a new supplier. This
investigation is ongoing, and
more arrests are possible,”
Owens said in the press release.

Parkway Drug Task Force is sup

Thanks for making Movie Under the Stars
a night to remember
The Pickens County Recre
ation Department would like to
thank everyone that fought the
cold and came out to enjoy our
annual Movie Under the Stars.
We started the night with activi
ties for the adults and kids with
jumpers for the children to jump
in, a cake walk for the adults and
candy walk for the kids. A BIG
thank you to Party Time Sales
and Rental for donating the
jumpers for the children to jump
in and also for donating the
movie screen for us to show the
movie on. We would like to give
a big thank you to Wal-Mart of
Jasper for donating all the cakes
and goodies for the cake walk.
Then before showing the
movie we gave out a lot of nice
door prizes with a few happy
winners. After all the door prizes
were given away we presented
the movie How to Train Your
Dragon. And even as cold as it
got, we still had a lot of people
that stuck it out until the end. It
was a great movie and I hope
everyone enjoyed our Movie
Under the Stars.
We would like to especially
thank Coca Cola of Jasper for co
sponsoring the event. Without
Coca Cola’s support, this FREE
community event would not be
possible. We appreciate every
thing Coca Cola does for our de
partment and community. For all

make it known to them how
much they are appreciated.
