Young Actors Project bring Aesop
with attitude this weekend
By Crystal Merrell
CAPAA Administrator
Join the energetic and pas
sionate actors of the Young Ac
tors Project this weekend for
their presentation of A Bagful of
Fables - the stories of Aesop.
It’s Aesop with an attitude!
Aesop pulls the scripts out of his
messenger bag and assigns roles
to actors as they bring to the
stage the tried and true stories of
The Fox and the Crow, The Fox
and the Grapes, The Tortoise and
the Flare, The Wolf in Sheep’s
Clothing and The Sun and the
Wind. Other actors become a
Greek chorus providing voiced
music and sound effects and en
gaging the audience along the
way. Playful bickering, witty
banter, lively stage action and au
dience interaction make this play
fun for all ages.
Director Ellen Painter and As
sistant Director Bay Cagle se
lected to present a play that has a
cast size and variety of parts so
that participants will be able to
improve their acting skills and
confidence. Selected for the Fa
bles cast were Victoria Grant,
Nathan Hamilton, Marie Black-
mar, Lila McArthur, Joely Sim
mons, Amber Boren, Jessie
Griffin, Madison Schultz, Han
nah Hardison, Heather Vincent,
Griffin Poole and Emma Long.
Zack Makool will be providing
sound/light. Nathan Cagle is the
stage manager.
