opment.”

Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor:
Thank you for speaking out
on an issue that has irritated me
for years! [Happy Holidays to
everyone, December 11 edito
rial]. As usual, you did it in
such a nice and thoughtful
way. It helped to smooth my
ruffled holiday feathers.

Dear Editor:
Thank you, thank you to the
North Ga. Acting Co. for the
delightful Christmas gift to
Jasper and Pickens County in
The Magical Christmas Eve on
Candy Cane Lane. It was a
wonderful production of the
happy Christmas songs, the
choreography, costumes, the
talent - and time - of the per
formers and the touching Holy
Story, all wrapped up in a great
Christmas package.
Laimon & Bobbie Shelnutt
Dear Editor:
The killing or harming of
innocent people should never
be condoned. The ambush as
sassination of New York Po
lice officers, Wenjian Liu and
Rafael Ramos, was a horrific
act committed by a man with
mental issues.
My fear is that the news
media will try and make it look
like the result of protests
against police brutality.
My heart goes out to the
families of these two officers.
Being a police officer is a hard,
dangerous, low wage job with
little or no thanks from the
people they are hired to pro
tect.
With that being said, it illus
trates how the actions of one
deranged individual can sully
all the people who are legiti
mately protesting Police bru
tality. Just as a few bad police
officers can taint a whole po
lice force.
