Lawrence White
Lawrence Raymond
White, known as "Rabbit
White," of Marble Hill,
passed away on Thursday,
December 22, 2016.
The funeral is scheduled
for Wednesday, December 28
at 10 a.m. from the chapel of
Darby Funeral Home with
Rev. Billy Edmondson offici
ating. Interment will follow
at Georgia National Ceme
tery.
He was preceded in death
by his mother and father,
Thelma and Judge White and
brother, Billy White of Dal
las, GA. He is survived by
his wife, Phyllis White of
Marble Hill; his sister and
brother-in-law, Thary and
James Matheny of Ball
Ground, GA.; his brother and
sister-in-law, Griffin and
Maxine White of Dallas,
GA.; and his sister-in-law,
Mary White of Dallas, Ga.
Several children, several
grandchildren, and great
grandchildren also survive.
Rabbit was a member of
Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Can
ton Masonic Lodge #77. He
retired from Lockheed Mar
tin after 30 years.
He has gone home to be
with Jesus. He will be loved
forever and will always live
in our hearts. In lieu of flow

at her sisters home in
Waleska.
Ms. Young is survived by

Marble Hill; daughters,
Veronica Blackwell of Wood-
stock and Danielle Dodd of
Ellijay; brother and sister-in-
law, Nathan & Marlene
Turner of Ball Ground; sis
ters and brother-in-law, De-
lona Griffin of Acworth, Ann
& Lee Pratt of Waleska,
Fairy Poole of Jasper, Delta
Turner of Marble Hill, and
Mary & Vaughn Ortagus of
Emerson; 10 grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.
Ms. Young was preceded
in death by her parents RW
and Evelyn Turner; and
brothers Larry and Lee
Turner.
The funeral service was
held at 2 p.m. Thursday, De
cember 22nd at Mount Ver
non Baptist Church in
Dawson County with Rev.
Gary Keown officiating. In
terment at Mount Vernon
Baptist Church Cemetery.

Blackwell, Matt Turner,
Louis Johnson, Dewayne
Johnson, Anthony Poole, and
Jamey Walker.

2016 at her home. She was
born December 26, 1934 to
Betty Elizabeth and Linzey
Young in Pickens County.
She is survived by daugh
ters, Annie Mae Long of
Ludville, Lillie Mae Watson
of Ludville; son, Larry Ham
rick of Ludville; brothers,
Nathan Young, James Young,
J. L. Young, Ed Young; sis
ters, Frances Watson, and
Jeanette Stone; 9 grandchil
dren; 18 great-grandchildren,
and 3 great-great-
grandchildren. Several
nieces and nephews also sur
vive.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, William
Henry Hamrick and son,
Richard Hamrick.

held at 2 p.m., Saturday, De
cember 24, 2016 at the

to good use. The program
has been a holiday tradition
in Georgia for more than 26
years and is the largest tree
recycling program in the na
tion.

* 108,468 trees were col
lected in Georgia. Of these
105,369 were recycled into
mulch for playgrounds, city
and county landscaping proj
ects, and individual homes.
Pickens contributed 140
of the tress collected.
* 1,116 trees were sunk
into lakes across the state to
provide fish habitats. 1,587
were used for fuel or other
uses.
* Over 6 million Christ
mas trees have been recycled
and diverted from land fills
since the start of the pro
gram.
* 60 local governments
and / or organizations partic
ipated.
* 189 collection sites were
set up throughout the state.
* 1,167 volunteers do
nated 5,071 hours of
time.were set up throughout.
