Farmers Market extends into
fall with holiday gifts galore
By Heather Giambra
Boo! Oh, wait Hal
loween is over and turkey
day is coming. The market
got a cold chill, but it was
full of warm hearts. Cold to
cool to crisp, but it was a
sunny and energetic day.
The market normally ends
the last Saturday of October,
but it was decided that this
year an extended schedule
beginning next Saturday
was in order. New hours for
next week as well. The mar
ket starts at 9 a.m. and will
go until 1 p.m. in the Park
and Ride parking lot at Lee
Newton Park, every Satur
day thru Dec. 12th.
You will find several
vendors have created soaps,
lotions, sprays and many
other fine products that will
enhance your home and
body. These items make
great gifts, too, like beard
oil for those hairy loved
ones.
We may need our jack
ets, but our vendors will be
waiting next week to get
you something special.
Greens, eggs, and some
other vegetables are still
available to go with the
bread, muffins, cookies, and
pies, too!
The Jasper Farmers Mar-
Denise Seibel of North Georgia Fruits has the beauti
ful red orange Japanese persimmons in! These fruits are
NOT astringent. They will not pucker your pucker! And
so delicious. Spread some fruit on a cracker with or with
out some cream cheese for a taste delight! And surely
there are many more ways to use this special fruit?
Denise is a busy lady. She not only has the persimmons
she has beautiful fragrant soaps and lavender sachets to
delight your senses.
Legal Notices
Our new vendor, Cathy
Prater, certainly has the
right product for the com
ing holidays. Ornaments
made from aluminum
cans. They are so beauti
fully done that the can used
is not obvious! Cathy has to
mark on the tags which can
was used. Intricately cut
and lightweight, the orna
ments will not weigh down
your Christmas tree or any
other thing you hang them
on.
ket is sponsored by the Pick
ens County Master Garden
ers and we want to say
“Thank You!” for supporting
our local, home grown and
home made for you market.
