MAKING SENSE OF INVESTING
Jeffrey Danner of Ala
bama was arrested following
a chase, and a standoff
where he and another sus
pect exchanged shots with
law enforcement agents.
Cherokee Sheriff
Press Release
At approximately 2 p.m.
Sunday afternoon, Cherokee
911 gave a lookout for a ve
hicle that was involved in
several violent crimes in two
counties in Alabama. A Ball
Ground Police officer spotted
the silver Ford Escape on I-
575 and attempted to pull the
vehicle over. The driver of
the SUV refused to pull over
and the officer pursued the
vehicle, which had two sus
pects inside, to the end of
Leo Taylor Lane in Ball
Ground.
The suspects drove behind
LAT Sportswear and into the
woods where they fled on
foot. Cherokee Sheriff’s Of
fice deputies arrived on the
scene shortly after the sus
pects fled into the woods.
Moments later officers were
fired upon by the suspects but
no one was injured. Addi
tional units and the Cherokee
County Multi-Agency SWAT
Team was called to the scene.
Several law enforcement
agencies arrived on the scene
to assist, including a Georgia
State Patrol helicopter who
spotted the suspects and con
firmed they were armed.
Pickens County deputies
also assisted in the response.
After an approximate
three-hour standoff during
which the suspects fired sev
eral rounds, one of the sus
pects was shot by a SWAT
Team member, and both sus
pects were taken into cus
tody.
William Kirkland, 27, of
Dothan, Alabama, was the
suspect who was shot. He
was transported to WellStar
Kennestone Hospital where
he is currently being treated
for a gunshot wound. Kirk

In a theater the “ghost
light” is a light that is usu
ally a single bulb in a wire
cage and mounted on a pole.
It is placed on the stage at
the end of a show and re
moved at the onset of the
next. The obvious reason
for the light is safety since
the theater is otherwise
dark. Some say the light ap
peases the ghosts by giving
them light to perform by,
while people are not there.
This keeps the ghosts from
interrupting shows. Others
think the light is also to
scare ghosts away. Ulti
mately, the ghost light is a
promise to the troupe and
public that there will be fu
ture shows.
It’s been many long
months at the Tater Patch
Players Theater. COVID-19
and a flooded first floor
have kept the theater closed
and the ghost light burning.
It’s now time to extinguish
the light and perform again.
