Sealed proposals will be
received by the City of
Jasper, Georgia at the
Jasper City Hall, 200 Burnt
Mountain Road, Jasper,
Georgia 30143 until 2:00
p.m. local time, Tuesday,
May 4, 2021, at which time
and place they will be pub
licly opened and read. No
submitted bid may be with
drawn after the scheduled
closing time for receipt of
bids for a period of sixty (60)
days.
The work to be done con
sists of furnishing all materi
als, equipment and labor for
the repair and painting of the
Lilly Circle 250,000 gallon el
evated water tank.
Time allotted for con
struction is 150 consecutive
calendar days for substantial
completion and 180 days for
final completion.
Proposals for the com
plete work in one general
contract shall be made on
the proposal form provided
and shall contain prices in
words and figures for the
work bid on.
All proposals shall be ac
companied by a Bid Bond
drawn in favor of the City of
Jasper, Georgia, in the
amount of at least 10% of
the lump sum bid for the
complete work; such Bid
Bond representing that the
Bidder, if awarded the con
tract, will promptly enter into
contract and furnish Per
formance Bond and Pay
ment Bond as provided by
law and approved by the At
torney for the City of Jasper,
Georgia. Each bond shall be
equal to 100% of the con

AGENCY UNDER THE
EMERGENCY FOOD AND
SHELTER NATIONAL
BOARD PROGRAM.
Pickens County has been
chosen to receive $5,133 to
supplement emergency food
and shelter programs in the
County. The selection was
made by a National Board
that is chaired by the U. S.
Department of Homeland
Security’s Federal Emer
gency Management Agency
and consists of representa
tives from American Red
Cross; Catholic Charities,
USA; National Council of the
Churches of Christ in the
USA; The Jewish Federa
tions of North America, The
Salvation Army; and, United
Way Worldwide. The Local
Board was charged to dis
tribute funds appropriated by
Congress to help expand the
capacity of food and shelter
programs in high-need areas
around the country. A Local
Board made up of (the
Mayor, United Way, et al.)
will determine how the funds
awarded to (Pickens
County) are to be distributed
among the emergency food
and shelter programs run by
local service agencies in the
area. The Local Board is re
sponsible for recommending
agencies to receive these
funds and any additional
funds made available under
this phase of the program.
Under the terms of the grant
from the National Board,
local agencies chosen to re
ceive funds must: 1) be pri
vate voluntary nonprofits or
units of government, 2) be
eligible to receive Federal
funds, 3) have an account
ing system, 4) practice
nondiscrimination, 5) have
demonstrated the capability
to deliver emergency food
and/or shelter programs,
and 6) if they are a private
voluntary organization, have
a voluntary board. Qualifying
agencies are urged to apply.
Pickens County has distrib
uted Emergency Food and
Shelter funds previously with
local Agencies participating.
These Agencies were re
sponsible for providing
meals and nights of lodging.

agencies interested in apply
ing for Emergency Food and
Shelter Program funds must
