Arrests made in Gilmer murder
GBI Press Release
Authorities have arrested
three of the five suspects
wanted in connection to the
April murder of a 37-year-old
woman in Gilmer County.
Megan Alyssa Colone, 30,
of Stone Mountain, Oscar
Manuel Garcia, 26, of
Austell, and Juan Antonio
Vega, 25, were arrested in
Mexico on Saturday, May 15,
according to the Georgia Bu
reau of Investigation.
On Saturday, May 15, the
Georgia Bureau of Investiga
tion, working in partnership
with Homeland Security In
vestigations (HSI) Atlanta,
HSI Harlingen, Texas and At
tache Matamoros, Mexico
coordinated the arrests of
Colone, and Manuel Garcia.
The fifth suspect (previously
identified in news releases by
photographs) in this murder
was located with Oscar
Manuel Garcia and was iden
tified as Juan Antonio Vega,
25. A warrant was taken for
Vega for the murder of
Rossana Delgado. Vega is a
Cobb County resident.
All three suspects were
apprehended in Mexico and
returned to the United States.
HSI Harlingen and Customs
and Border Patrol oversaw
the transport of the suspects
to Texas detention facilities.
All three are pending extradi
tion proceedings to Georgia
to face murder charges.
Colone’s children were
safely returned to the United
States during these arrests
operations.
Rossana Delgado, a 37-
year-old Bethlehem mother,
was last seen in DeKalb
County in mid-April. Just
four days after being reported
missing, on April 20, her
body was found during a
welfare check at a Cherry
Log home.
HSI has worked diligently
to assist the GBI and the
Gilmer County Sheriff’s Of
fice in this case and in these
arrests. The GBI and the
Gilmer County Sheriff’s Of
fice are very grateful for the
support and efforts of HSI
and all agencies involved in
affecting these arrests.
The GBI and the Gilmer
County Sheriff’s Office con
tinue to actively investigate
this case and the individuals
involved in the murder of
Rossana Delgado. A coordi
nated effort to locate and ar
rest the other two murder sus

and Mario Alberto Barbosa-
