Mary Ann
Bracegirdle
On June 2, 2021 Dr. Mary
Ann Moore Bracegirdle, lov
ing wife of Gilbert Bracegir
dle and beloved mother of
Ron Downey, Stuart
Downey, Melissa Piche', and
of her children by marriage
Jamie Bracegirdle and
Joanne Jones, passed away at
the age of 90 years young.
Mary Ann was bom on
December 11, 1930, in Gar
den City, MO to Earl and
Lucia Redfield Moore. She
graduated from William
Jewel College with a BA in
Early Childhood Education.
She received a Masters of
Education in Guidance and
Counseling at The University
of Missouri, an Ed.S. in
Guidance and Counseling,
from Georgia State Univer
sity. She earned her Ph.D. in
Educational Administration
also from Georgia State Uni
versity. Mary Ann retired
from the Cobb County, GA
school system after an impor
tant career in that system, re
tiring from her post as the
Executive Director of Middle
Schools for the county.
Mary Ann loved to travel
having eventually visited 59
countries, many of them with
her husband, Bert Bracegir
dle, and her traveling com
panion, Glenda Clark. She
also loved to sing; she per
formed in college with a
quartet and with her husband.
It was common to hear Bert
picking his guitar and Mary
Ann merrily singing along.
She also enjoyed gardening,
reading, cooking, theater, and
good conversation.
She was a faithful mem
ber of Holy Family Episcopal
Church where she found im
mense comfort and support
from participating in many
committees; she especially
treasured being a member of
The Order of Daughters of
the King. She lived her life
committed to the Daughters'
vision which is "Empowered
by the Holy Spirit, our vision
as Daughters is to know
Jesus Christ, to make him
known to others, and to be
come reflections of God's
love throughout the world."
Mary Ann was preceded
in death by her parents, Earl
and Lucia; sisters, Edna and
Elsie. She is survived by her
husband, Bert; sister, Lucia;
her three children; her two
children by marriage; and 4
grandchildren, Alex Downey,
Campbell Dixon, Sam
Downey, Lilianne Piche'; as
well as several nieces and
nephews.
Mary Ann's Memorial will
be held at Holy Family Epis
copal Church in Jasper, GA
on June 25, 2021 at 11 a.m.
Memorial donations in her
honor may be made to The
Outreach Committee, Holy
Family Episcopal Church,
202 Griffith Road, Jasper,
GA 30143.

Nancy Joyce Jarrard, 63,
of Jasper, passed away Mon
day, June 7, 2021 at Pied
mont Mountainside Hospital.
She was born February 28,
1958 to Jack and Louise
Johnson in Canton, Georgia.
Nancy is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law,
Scott and Donna Hendon of
Canton; grandsons, Jason
Hendon, Blake Hendon, Isa
iah Byrd; granddaughters,
Jorden Hendon, Autumn
Brooks, Paige Hendon; five
great-grandchildren; sisters,
Pam Bodeck of Marble Hill,
Wanda Christmas of Forest
Park; step-mother, Eunice
Johnson of Marble Hill. She
was preceded in death by her
parents, Jack and Louise
Johnson.
A memorial visitation was
held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June
12, 2021 at Roper Funeral
Home.

Annie Lee Fouts, 77, of
Ball Ground, Ga. passed
away Friday, June 11,2021 at
her residence. She loved
flowers and fishing. She was
the oldest of seven siblings.

She was preceded in death

Christine Ingram
Christine Ingram, 94, of
Talking Rock, Georgia,
passed away Tuesday, June 8,
2021 at The Veranda at Car-
nesville. She was bom No
vember 29, 1926 to Thurston
and Ellen Sutton in Gilmer
County.
Christine is survived by
her son, Phillip Marion In
gram; five grandchildren,
five great-grandchildren, and
three great-great-grandchil-
dren. Many nieces, nephews
and other relatives also sur
vive.

Mr. Shawn Terrell, 19, of
Jasper, passed away Sunday
June 6, 2021 at Piedmont
Mountainside Hospital.
Shawn is survived by his
mother, Kasey Lynn Harkins
of Jasper; father, Marco Ter
rell of FL; grandmothers,
Vicky Connell of Jasper, and
Denise Terrell of Jasper;
brothers, Johnathan Terrell of
Jasper, Donail Harris Jr. of
Jasper, and Trey Terrell of
Jasper; sister, Kiara Pounds
of Jasper.

held at 2 p.m. Friday, June
11, 2021 at Lake Forest Me
morial Park.

Nancy Bennett
Pastor Nancy R. Bennett,
70, of Talking Rock, Georgia
passed away Saturday, June
12, 2021 at her home.
Nancy is survived by her
husband, David I. Bennett of
Talking Rock; daughter, Eliz
abeth Ramsey of Jasper, GA;
daughter, Elsie Bennett of
Nashville, TN; sister, Donna
Jo Smith of Ranger, GA.; and
grandchildren, Chace Allred
and Savana Ramsey. She was
preceded in death by her
brothers, William (Fuzzy)
Smith, Richard Smith and her
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
William H. Smith.
Pastor Nancy is leaving
behind a legacy full of grace,
love, and service to her com
munity and beyond. She
served in countless ministries
for children, women, youth,
young adults, home schooled
students, alcohol and drug
addicted women (Ruth
House), the elderly in as
sisted living and various out
reach ministries. She and her
husband produced a local
Christian radio show and
many powerful church dra
mas. She was known for
being a strong, consistent
woman of prayer, a fervent
student and teacher of the
Bible. She mentored, taught,
and touched many with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pas
tor Nancy was a prayer war
rior and intercessor. She
served and loved people un
conditionally regardless of
class, race, gender or reli
gion. She is someone who ac
tively gave continually to
those in need, including start
ing local Soup kitchens and
Clothing drives. With the
help of a local church she
started a children's bus min
istry to teach needy and chal
lenged local kids about the
love of Christ. She was all
about loving people and shar
ing the gospel. She will be
greatly missed, but she is
now in the arms of her Lord,
whom she served with all her
heart and with every last
breath before entering her

The Pickens County Coin
Club meets the first and third
Tuesdays of the month at
5:30 p.m. with an auction
starting at 6:30 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, June
1 the club will begin meeting
again at the Amicalola Elec
tric Center’s Dean Center at
544 Highway 515 in Jasper.
The club is also planning
a Coin Show on Saturday,
July 31, 2021 at the Dean
Center. The coin show will
be open to the public, free
parking and admission start
ing at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They
provide opportunities to in
teract with the public, discuss
coin collecting with "YN's"
young numismatists, provide
appraisals and to buy and sell
coins.
