Nina Tucker
Nina Sue Tucker, 63, of
Jasper, Georgia passed away
Thursday, June 24, 2021 at
her home. She was born Sep
tember 3, 1957 in Canton,
Georgia.
She is survived by her
husband, Rick Tucker of
Jasper; daughter, Lillie Gates
of Jasper; son, Dylan Gates
of Jasper; sister, Jean Martin
of Jasper. Several aunts, un
cles, nieces, nephews, and
other relatives also survive.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, Jerry O'Neal
Greene and Lola Faye Davis
Greene; brother, Danny
Greene; sisters, Loretta Blan
ton and Jolene Greene.
Mrs. Tucker was cre
mated.

Paul Corkill
U.S. Veteran
Paul D. Corkill, 97, of
Jasper, Georgia passed away
Thursday, July 1, 2021, at his
home.
He was a veteran of World
War II where he was a navi
gator flying in a B24 bomber
with the 449th Bomb Group.
On his 33 rd mission navigat
ing in the cold and the dark,
he suffered frostbite on his
left leg. (They did hit their
target.) After his foil duty sta
tus ended, Paul continued
serving his country in the re
serves, becoming a Captain
in the Airforce Reserves.
During his time of service, he
was awarded the Silver Star,
the Purple Heart, and the Dis
tinguished Flying Cross.
Paul was a faithful servant
of Christ, serving in various
positions at Fellowship Pres
byterian Church of Jasper.
This is where his friendship
with Sara started and led to a
true spiritual marriage.
He is survived by his wife,
Sara Culbreth Corkill of
Jasper; son and daughter-in-
law, Craig and Pam Corkill
of Dawsonville; daughter, Je-
nalee Duncan of Daw
sonville; daughter-in-law, Jill
Corkill of Fruitland Park
Florida; grandchildren, Marc
and Donna Duncan of Bald
win, Georgia, Michael C.
Corkill, Beau and Susset
Corkill of Canton, Bryan and
Natasha Corkill of Lessburg,
Florida, Michael R. Corkill
of Fruitland Park, Florida,

6, 2021, at Fellowship Pres
byterian Church of Jasper
with Reverend Blake Hudson
and Reverend Ben Laughlin

lowed at Sunrise Memorial
Gardens.

Toni Marie Kelley, 63, of
Jasper, Georgia passed away
Monday, June 28, 2021 at her
home. She was bom May 21,
1958 to John and Earletta
Toy in Burbank, California.
Toni is survived by her

Toni was a member of

Catholic Church in Jasper.
She was a huge Alabama fan,
loved to watch her boys play
sports and loved to travel.

He is survived by his sons

held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 2,
2021 at the Chapel of Cagle
Funeral Home, with Rev.
Randall Chastain officiating.
Interment was at Moun
tain Cemetery, following the
funeral service.

Mr. Douglas Hollifield,
60, of Talking Rock, passed
away Monday July 5,2021 at
Northside Hospital Chero
kee.
Mr. Hollifield is survived
by his son, Dylan Hollifield
of Jasper; daughters, Sydney
Carver of Jasper, and Kayla
Hollifield of Talking Rock;
brother and sister-in-law,
Chuck and Terry Hollifield of
Talking Rock; sister and
brother-in-law, Sandra &
Sonny Underwood of Jasper;
three grandchildren, Chris
tian Wright, Victoria Wright,
and Dolly Davis; several
nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by
his parents, Leon & Irene
Hollifield; daughters, Jodi
Hollifield and Leah Holli
field.
Visitation is Wednesday
July 7, 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.,
and Thursday July 8, 9 a.m.
until the service hour.
Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
July 8, 2021 at the Chapel of
Cagle Funeral Home, with
Pastor Jerry Stewart officiat
ing.

Roxie Goble
Roxilea (Roxie) Jones
Goble passed away peace
fully at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center on July 2,
2021 surrounded by family.
Roxie was bom at Coker
Hospital in Canton, Georgia
on March 17, 1935. She was
raised by her late parents,
Elizabeth Archer Jones and
Henry Grady Jones. She at
tended Pickens County
Schools until she was 15 and
then attended the Westminis
ter School in Atlanta. After
high school, she attended So
phie Newcomb College in
New Orleans, Louisiana
where she joined the Phi Mu
Sorority like her mother and
three sisters. She was Presi
dent of Doris Hall.
Roxie married Joseph
Homer Goble Jr. on Novem
ber 20, 1955 in her parents’
home in Jasper, Georgia.
They had three children:
Joseph Homer Goble III, Dr.
Henry Grady Goble, and
Roxann Elizabeth Goble
Manley. Her husband, Joe,
was in the United States Air
Force and they spent 25 years
moving around the world.
Roxie stayed busy raising
their three children and being
an "Air Force Wife." She
held many positions in the
Officer’s Wives Club. Roxie
was President of the Albany,
Georgia PTA School Council
where she had PTA’s in 15
schools. She collected for all
charities. Throughout the
years she was a very active
member in the Episcopal
Church. Roxie loved every
where they lived and loved
the people she met.
After Joe retired from the
Air Force, they settled down
in Gainesville, Georgia in a
house on the lake that had
been the family vacation
home for years. Roxie spent
hours entertaining her young
grandchildren all over that
property. She also continued
her strong community in
volvement.
In Gainesville, Roxie was
a member and president of
the Fine Arts Study Club,
Crabapple Garden Club, and
especially Grace Episcopal
Church. She spent 20 years
as a Sunday School teacher
and helped with the chil
dren’s chapel.
Roxie is preceded in death
by her parents, Henry Grady
Jones and Elizabeth Archer
Jones; son, Joseph Homer
Goble III; two sisters, Sarah
Jones Gartrell and Sue Jones
Ward.
She is survived by her
husband, Joseph Homer
Goble Jr. of Gainesville; son
and daughters in law: Dr.
Henry (Ann) Grady Goble of
Gainesville; Roxann Eliza
beth Goble Manley of
Athens, Georgia; and Nellie
Goble of Talking Rock,
Georgia; grandchildren:
Michael Wayne Manley Jr.,
Elizabeth Ann Manley, Ava
Goble Reeves, and Jackson
Archer Goble; and several
great grandchildren, nieces,
and nephews.

service will be held at 11 a.m.
on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at
the Grace Episcopal Church
