Rain doesn’t slow Saturday market
By Heather Giambra
And a good time was had
by all....despite the rainy
start, vendors bravely set up
in the early hours and were
happily busy throughout the
drizzly morning. Master Gar
deners had set up their tent to
sell homegrown plants and
give out gardening advice.
Cupcake masters and
bread bakers sold their fresh
baked goods to the hungry
folk who know how delicious
it will be.
Zach Henson leads the
charge for fresh grown pro
duce. His tables are always
full of great veggies. Squash,
garlic, and green beans with
some other choice vegetables
are available at more than
one table or tent. {Hint: come
back Wednesday, 11- 2, to
get some more.)
With all this rain lately,
tomatoes that split are good
for stewing or sauces. Giant
zucchini can be stuffed. The
bigger the beans the bigger
the pot to cook them all in!
With the multitudes of
recipes available, we don’t let
a bite of good food get away.

ers. Through all the years, we
have always appreciated our
vendors for coming to our
market.
Seems we have been gain
ing new vendors and we are
very happy to see new faces
among the originals, aka The
Classics. The market truly is
a fun place to visit and shop,
plus, make new connections
for business as well as to fill
our pantries and plates with
good things to eat.
Vegetables, fruits, meats,
eggs, snacks and so much
more. More includes many
talented creative folks and
the fruits of their labors. We
had new vendors, Rick and
Wanda of Frack N Wood
with their beautiful wood top
tables and eye-catching dec
orative bottle vases. We hope
to see them again, along with
our many, new and Classic,
vendors.
The JF Market is located
in the Park n Ride parking lot
at Lee Newton Park across
from the Veterans Memorial.
We open Saturday mornings
at 7:30 a.m. and finish by
noon. The Summer FM Mar
ket is Wednesday between 11
a.m. and 2 p.m. Y’all come,
or come back, whichever ap
plies to you, our customer.

New Chattahoochee Tech logo reflects
“a place where students thrive”
Chattahoochee
Technical College
Chattahoochee Technical
College has unveiled a new
logo as the college prepares
for a robust 2021 fall semes
ter.
“Students will return to a
full schedule of in-person
classes when fall semester
begins on Aug. 16,” said Vice
President of Advancement
Jennifer Nelson. “The new
logo reflects the college’s
larger branding initiative to
reflect the significant role
Chattahoochee Tech has in
serving as a place where stu
dents can thrive.”
Chattahoochee Tech
awards associate degrees,
diplomas and certificates in
more than 40 programs of
study for students to become
highly skilled professionals
in some of the nation’s
fastest-growing, high-de
mand career fields. Even
throughout the challenges
presented by the global coro-
navirus pandemic, the col
lege prevailed in its mission
to educate students with a
combination of online in
struction and carefully con
trolled, on-campus instruc
tion for essential labs.
Despite the additional chal
lenges they faced to complete
their college education dur
ing the pandemic, hundreds
of Chattahoochee Tech stu
dents completed programs of
study that prepared them for
highly skilled jobs available
in the local workforce.
“As the college moves
forward, we are devoted to
helping even more students
receive the educational train
ing they need to launch suc
cessful careers and build
productive lives,” said Nel
son. “We are very proud of
the fact that Chattahoochee
Tech graduates are meeting
the increasing demand from
local employers for highly
skilled workers to fill well
paying jobs available now in
our community.”
The new Chattahoochee
Tech logo, which was de
signed in-house, replaces the
college’s previous logo that
had been in use since 2009,
when the college merged
with North Metro Technical
College and Appalachian
Technical College to form
one institution.
