To the Editor:
The editor needs to have a
discussion with Larry Laven
der about journalist stan
dards. He declared MT
Greene a "devout Christian.”

ally? She may claim to be,
but your writer's and her own
interpretations are quite dif
ferent than mine. In any case,
the journalist should report
facts and leave the interpreta
tion to the readers. We need
to remember that just because
someone claims a religion
doesn't mean they are a good
person.

To the Editor:
Inflation and The Liberal
Progressives
Anybody besides me no
tice inflation in just about
everything. It has been
caused mostly by the Democ
rats and helped along now by
some Republicans. Spend
spend spend with borrowed
money.
If you have a lot of debt,
this is a good thing because
it lets you pay back expen
sive dollar debt with cheaper
dollars. People in debt just
love it. Savers not so much.
If the fiscal policy of the
federal government is to bor
row lots of money and spent
it, you will see the supply of
money increase and prices
will go up for just about
everything.
If the monetary policy of
the federal government, is to
reduce the cost of borrowing
for banks down to zero, the
market will be flooded with
money and inflation will go
up.
We are doing both at the
same time and inflation is,
well - inflating. It is not
going to reverse anytime
soon. We run the risk of
hyper inflation which is
when you get your paycheck
you have to spend it that day
because the value of the
money shrinks with each
passing hour. We are starting
down the road to hyper infla
tion.
Once hyper inflation gets
going a fix will be to con
strict spending and the
money supply. Or you can
let inflation run until a dollar
is only fit for starting a fire
and the entire financial sys
tem vanishes and all savings
are wiped out.
The fix is either a severe
recession or a great depres
sion. Every wild night out
drinking is always paid for by
a hangover the next day.
We are at the beginning of
a heck of a great party but the
hard morning of headaches
and puking will always fol
low. Get your bucket handy.

Saturday, September 4,2021.
I was there for five days until
the 8th of September. I am
writing this letter to the editor
to express my greatest ex
pression of gratitude, appre
ciation and thankfulness to
those that staff the ER and
the hospital. One does not re
alize how many unsung mir
acles take place there every
day, sometimes every hour,
and the unsung, mostly un
known heroes that give
above and beyond of them
selves on behalf of Pickens
citizens, and any others who
come there. I was blessed in
recovering and leaving the
hospital, whereas some were
not so fortunate. I give the
proper credit first to God
above, then to His angels
who have given so much of
themselves in this current
new wave of the COVID
virus. My hope is that this
letter will strike up a new re
spect and support for our
local hospital and those who
staff it. In the five days that I
was there I was privileged to
get to know many by their
first name, and to express to
each personally that their
service and sacrifices to their
own families would not go
unnoticed and acknowl
edged. I would also like to
acknowledge appreciation
for all the doctors who
treated my condition, with
special appreciation to Dr.
Farhan Ahmed. These days
you hear all kinds stories
about hospitals, doctors, and
staff. Hopefully, this letter
will help to restore confi
dence in our local hospital.
