Jack Griffith
Jack Robert Griffith of
Marietta, Georgia, passed
away peacefully on Septem
ber 19, 2021, after a coura
geous and inspiring battle
with Parkinson's Disease. He
was 93 years old. Jack met
life's challenges with humor
and grace, and he taught
everyone around him that a
person is capable of enduring
just about anything with the
will to do so.
Jack was bom on August
1, 1928, in Tate, Georgia. He
attended North Georgia Col
lege, served in the United
States Army during the Ko
rean Conflict, and then began
a career at Lockheed that
spanned almost 40 years. An
avid baseball player in his
youth and dedicated Braves
fan, Jack allowed only one
thing to distract him from the
game, and that was his cher
ished grandkids. His grand
children will always fondly
remember "Grandpa G" for
the tractor rides and the fresh
veggies he prepared for them.
Though Jack's gardens re
duced in size over the years,
they always yielded plenty of
mouth-watering tomatoes,
green beans, and squash.
Jack also enjoyed repairing
old clocks, woodworking,
golf, and banjo music.
Predeceased by his wife
of 57 years, Dorothy "Jackie"
Duncan Griffith; Jack is sur
vived by his son, Stephen; his
daughter, Amy, and son-in-
law, Mark Denicore; grand
