Messiah to be presented at Fellowship church
The University of North
Georgia Singers will present
the Christmas Portion (Part I)
of George Frederic Handel’s
MESSIAH at 3:00 p.m. on
Sunday, October 24, 2021, at
Fellowship Presbyterian
Church.
Directed by Dr. John M.
Broman and accompanied by
Vivian Doublestein, the UNG
Singers is the university’s
premiere touring ensemble,
with trips throughout the
United States and overseas
being scheduled every other
year. Guest soloists Abigail
Johansen, soprano; Dr. Es
ther Morgan-Ellis, alto; Dr.
Timothy Harper, tenor; Dr.
Benjamin Schoening, bass
will be featured in this per
formance. The audience will
hear “For Unto Us a Child is
Bom” and the awe-inspiring
“Hallelujah” chorus.
There is no fee for attend
ing this impressive perform
ance, but any donations re
ceived will be greatly appre
ciated. Proceeds will be used
to assist with travel expenses
for the Singers, and the
ladies’ ensemble Le Belle
Voci, tour of the United
Kingdom scheduled for
March 2023.
The community is invited
to bring family and friends
for an early start to the
Christmas season with this
well-loved classic. Due to
COVID 19, guests are re
quired to bring and wear
masks while inside the
church.
Comhole tournament fundraiser Nov. 7
Be-Paws We Care invites
you to join its first annual
Triple “B” Cornhole Tourna
ment Fundraiser; Barks, Brews
6 Bags on Sunday, November
7 from noon to 5 p.m. at Rock
Solid Brewing in Ball Ground.
This tournament will help raise
funds for the hundreds of
homeless and unwanted Pick
ens pets that BPWC will help
this year. Spend your Sunday
afternoon at this fun, awesome
event.
About the Event
Players will compete in
teams of two for 25-minute,
double-elimination sets to de
termine the top two winning
teams. Last two teams stand
ing then face off in a single
elimination set to determine a
grand prize winner.
Due to limited space, only
eight teams will be able to
compete - so register today.
Players of any skill level
are welcome - the rules are
simple - check out the tutorial
on our website address below
then register and support a
great cause while having fun.
This event will not be an ACO
official comhole rules tourna
ment.
There will also be a “Pay to
Play Airmail Challenge” open
to anyone at the event.
Compete to get the most
bags in the hole. Winner gets a
prize.
No preregistration is neces
sary for the Airmail Challenge.
