process of prequalifying HVAC
subcontractors in the counties of
Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee,
Dade, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray,
Pickens, Walker and Whitfield
for weatherization related serv
ices administered by our organi
zation.
As a sub grantee of the
Georgia Weatherization Assis
tance Program, which receives
federal and private sector fund
ing, administered by the Geor
gia Environmental Finance
Authority, North Georgia Com
munity Action, Inc. has a contin
uing role to provide
weatherization assistance to
residential homes of low income
families in the North Georgia
area. With the projects, subcon
tracted work may be required to
service and/or install heating
and air conditioning equipment
in residential homes, to perform
minor heating and cooling re
pairs on residential homes, per
form minor HVAC upgrades on
residential homes, plumbing re
pairs and install weatherization
measures as determined by the
weatherization audit.
All applicants must be cur
rently licensed to conduct busi
ness in the State of Georgia and
be licensed and/or certified in
the trade of HVAC services and
Plumbing services, as required
by the State of Georgia. In addi
tion to the initial application, all
applicants will be required to
sign a service agreement and
provide required information
listed within the service agree
ment and maintain current gen
eral liability insurance limits with
$2,000,000 in the aggregate
combined limit, $1,000,000 per
occurrence and no deductibles
greater than $25,000. Valid
Workman’s Compensation cov
erage will be also required,
where Georgia State law re
quires the employer to maintain
such coverage.
