Rematches
College football fans
find it difficult to contain
their excitement and anx
iously anticipate this week
end’s conference
championship games, but
these rematches are boring.
Who does not want to see
the clash between top
ranked Georgia (12-0) and
third ranked Alabama (ll-
l) for the SEC Champi
onship and a berth in the
college football playoff?
On the other hand, would
you want a rematch of these
two powerhouses again
during the playoff season?
If Bama wins, both
teams probably make the
College Football Playoff
(CFP) which could bring a
rematch on New Year’s Eve
or in the National Champi
onship Game. If the Bull
dogs triumph, they advance
as likely the lone represen
tative of the Southeastern
Conference. UNLESS, we
have upsets in the other
conference championships
which could bring some de
licious chaos to the whole
CFP plan.
The other scheduled
games...
Well...
Yawn...
Does anyone really want
to see number 7 Oklahoma
State (11 -1) play 8th ranked
Baylor (10-2) again in the
Big 12 Championship
Game? The Cowboys have
already defeated the Bears
in October by a 24-14
score. OSU could slip into
the playoff with a win
though.
The same point stands for
the PAC 12 Championship
Game as well although no
body from that conference
has a chance at the playoff.
Number 11 Oregon (10-2)
plays number 19 Utah (9-3)
after the Ducks were thor
oughly pounded by the
Utes 38-7 only two weeks
ago.
Such is the case with re
matches. Aside from dedi
cated fans of each of the
particular teams involved,
not a football loving soul

With the holidays in
full swing, I have a great
day planned out for you.
If you and your wily
children like to trout
fish, try the delayed har
vest sections of the Chat
tahoochee or Amicalola
Rivers, maybe Smith
Creek in North Georgia.
These are sections that
are open now for trout
fishing but anglers can’t
keep any trout so your
chances of catching a
stocked fish gets better -
- though certainly not
guaranteed. Even if your
children don’t like to
trout fish, take them and
check to see if they do.

The PITS wrestling team was busy
over the break. The Saturday before
Thanksgiving, the team competed in the
Knight’s Duals at River Ridge High
School.
The team began that day with wins
against Woodstock, Blessed Trinity, and
East Forsyth. The Dragons would lose
close duals to Etowah and SE Whitfield,
ultimately finishing the day in fourth
place out of 10 teams.
Then on Monday, the team traveled
to the Lambert Invitational. The Drag
ons had showing placing second overall
out of 14 teams. Individual placers
were: 1st Brighton Biles, Cason Can
non, Jack Flatt, RJ Mullins, and Tristan
Marinelli 3rd- Kael Deering 4th- Chris

The Dragons will take the mat again
this Wednesday at home against
