“The nursing pinning is a
very special event that we
look forward to with each co

a lifetime for these students.
We are so very proud of this
group of students and know
they are going to do great

I did not write this but I’ve had it hanging
on the tin doors of my great-grandmother’s
pie safe for almost 35 years. I read it again
today and I still love it.
It speaks to my heart, perhaps it will
someone else’s.
I don’t recall where I got it, it’s a very old
newspaper clipping. I likely got it from a
family member’s home when they passed
away. Obviously, it spoke to them as well
since they clipped it and held into it.
It’s my hope that someone else will clip it
from the Progressl
“Makin ’ a Home”

It isn’t much this place of ours,
some folks would no doubt say;
An’ some might even whisper,
“My, how can they live that way?”
It’s only two little, tiny rooms;
And it has no bath, it’s true,
But we have a big ol’ wash tub
And we manage to make that do.
“Twas such fun a fixin’ it up,
Why we papered the whole inside;
An’ when we gaze on the shiny paint
It fills our hearts with pride!
Some folks can live in mansions
An’ hire everything done;
But sometimes I git to thinkin’,
They’re missing’ a lot o’fun!
They never know the joy
Of doin’ things theirselves;
Like makin’ curtains and hookin’ rugs,
An’ paperin’ kitchen shelves.
Or buyin’ things at bargain sales,
And, gee, that’s heaps o’ fun;
An’ figurin’ out how much it cost
When all the work is done.
Sometimes I think if we was rich,
With a mansion and servants galore,
An’ all the walls was painted gold,
I wouldn’t love it more!
