Minister’s Comer
ary, we will be having a
Passover Seder in April, Ole
Time Camp Meeting in May,
Rodeo Bible Horse Camp in
June, Horse camps and much
more. Please come out and
visit with us. You don't have
to be a cowboy to come. We
have people from all walks of
life. It's always a blessing to
meet new friends.
When God said "Cowboy
Church," I never dreamed it
would be such a wonderful
experience. Telling people
about the one who can
change their life, Jesus Christ
and helping these children
understand that God loves
them and wants to give them
a future and a hope.
We've had about 200 peo
ple give their lives to Christ
in these almost 15 years and
a lot of them have been bap
tized in the lake behind the
ranch. I still hear from many
of them and that is tndy a
blessing.
John 4:34 Jesus saith unto
them, My meat is to do the
will of Him who sent me, and
to finish His work.
BAMA fan has to wear UGA jersey
and then auction it to provide
snack program funds

It is a must see. Long time Alabama fan
Dr. Carl McCurdy wearing a blazing red Stet
son Bennett UGA home jersey. Doc is doing
penance because he lost a bet to John Luke
Weaver when Georgia beat Alabama for the
2021 college football National Champi
onship. Had Weaver lost he would have had
to dress like Bear Bryant for a day.
The good natured fundraiser will begin
Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at LC Tacos and
Margaritas at 61 North Main. There will be
a $10 charge for charity to see the 8th Wonder
of the World of McCurdy wearing red and
black.
Dr. McCurdy is calling the event “The
Shirt off My Back” because after wearing the
UGA Bennett jersey it will be auctioned to
the highest bidder with all proceeds going to
the local Children’s Weekend Snack Pack
Program. The generous Alabama loser Mc
Curdy will double all proceeds from the en
trance fee to the final auction price of the
jersey benefiting the children.
NOTE: this is an official licensed college
fan jersey but not directly tied to the star
quarterback.

Recap
good? You’ll see. Let’s first
go over what happened in the
race Sunday.
The race started at 3:54
p.m. with Ryan Blaney on
pole. He would get passed by
Daniel Suarez on the first lap
and Suarez would lead the
whole first stage to win it. A
few little incidents happened
here and there, most notably
Chase Elliott turning Kyle
Busch when trying to pass
him in a comer. Many drivers
pitted before the end of stage
1, so they could be up front
for the start of stage 2. So,
when stage 1 ended, the top 9
in the stage pitted since they
didn’t come before and
restarted in the middle of the
pack for the restart. The start
to officially begin stage 2
flew on lap 18 and on this
restart, Suarez spun out by
getting hit behind by Corey
Lajoie, which caused him to
have a flat and pit under
green. The leader on the
restart, Austin Cindric, led
the all the laps in the stage
until deciding to pit with 3

laps to go in the stage and
give up the lead. Many more
drivers decided to pit, like
Jones, Harvick, and Bow
man. Denny Hamlin would
go on to win stage 2 since he
decided to not pit before the
stage end and got 10 points to
move him up in the stand
ings.
Stage 3 officially started
on lap 33 with Logano in the
lead after deciding to not pit
during the stage 2 caution or
before it, but would lock the
brakes up going into turn one
and would fall out of the top
10. Ross Chastain took over
the lead. The first caution for
something happening came
out on lap 35 for debris. The
debris was caused by Cindric
spinning out into the grass
and then kicking rocks back
onto the track when he
started going again. The
restart happened on lap 37.
The 4th caution of the race
would fly on lap 42 for Erik
Jones stopping on the track
after his car lost power. After
several more cautions, on the
final restart, Chastain takes
the lead back from Reddick,
and Allmendinger and Bow
man would move up into 2nd
and 3rd. On the final lap, All
mendinger put the bumper to
Chastain and took the lead,
but Chastain returned the
favor to him and caused All
mendinger to wreck and then
hit Bowman who was on the
outside trying to take the lead
himself. Ross Chastain
would go to win his first ca
reer NASCAR cup race in
the EchoPark Automotive
Grand Prix. Overall, this was
yet another really good race
because there was so much
battling throughout the field,
lots of cautions, and an amaz
ing finish with another first
time winner.
Next week, we go short
track racing in Richmond
Virginia, which is also the
start of a three-race East
Coast short track swing from
Richmond, Bristol Dirt, and
Martinsville.

March 27-April 2
March 27th:
On this day in 1939, the Oregon Webfoots,
now known as the Oregon Ducks, became
college basketball’s very first tournament
champion following their 46-33 win over
Ohio State. The Webs took a five-point half
time lead and cruised the rest of the way be
hind John Dick’s four field goal conversions
and game-high 13 points. Bobby Anet and
Laddie Gale scored 10 apiece and Oregon
converted 12 of its 16 free throw attempts.
Jimmy Hull made a game-high five field
goals on his way to leading all Buckeye play
ers with 12 points.
March 28th:
On this day in 1933, the Kentucky Wild
cats captured the first of their record 31 SEC
basketball tournament championships by de
feating the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 46-27.
This came after the Wildcats posted tourney
wins over Ole Miss, Florida and LSU.
Adolph Rupp’s team, which was led by
player of the year, Forest Sale, completed that
season with an overall record of 21-3. Ken
tucky also won the mythical pre-tournament
national title that same year.
March 29th:
On this day in 1984, without any an
nouncement, Colts owner, Robert Irsay, infa
mously packed up a Mayflower truck and
relocated his franchise from Baltimore to In
dianapolis. This move took place during the
middle of a snowy night. It’s also appropriate
to say that the snow covered up the existence
of NFL football in Baltimore for next 12 sea
sons until the former Cleveland Browns came
to town and became the Ravens.
March 30th:
On this day in 1940, the Indiana Hoosiers
claimed their first college basketball champi
onship in school history. The Hoosiers posted
a 60-42 win over another tradition-rich pro
gram, the Kansas Jayhawks, in the NCAA
final. Marv Huffman and Jay McCreary led
the way with 12 points apiece, with Mc
Creary sinking six field goals. Paul Arm
strong also chipped in four conversions for
10 points of his own. The head coach of this
Indiana team was Branch McCracken, who
led the Hoosiers to another title in 1953. Mc
Cracken compiled four Big Ten regular sea
son championships along with an overall
record of 364-174 before retiring in 1965.
March 31st:
On this day in 1973, Boston Bruins de
fenseman, Bobby Orr, registered his third ca
reer hat trick while becoming the first player
in NHL history to collect four straight 100-
point seasons. He scored all three Boston
goals, but it wasn’t enough as the Bruins fell
to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 7-3. Orr com
pleted the 1972-73 campaign with 101 points.
April 1st:
On this day in 1954, Gordie Howe set a
Stanley Cup playoff record for the fastest
goal from the start of a game in NHL history.
This took place in the fifth encounter of De
troit’s semifinal matchup with the Toronto
Maple Leafs. Howe, who scored Detroit’s
first two goals, needed just nine seconds to
find the net. The Wings built a 3-1 lead, but
Toronto rallied for two unanswered netters
and the contest went into sudden death. Ted
Lindsay won it for Detroit at the 1:01 mark
of the second overtime period. Lindsay’s goal
was set up by a Howe assist and it gave the
Red Wings a 4-3 series-clinching victory.
April 2nd:
On this day in 1980, Montreal Canadiens
right winger, Guy Lafleur, became the first
player in NHL history to post six consecutive
50-goal campaigns. Lafleur scored twice,
achieving the milestone on his second goal,
which came at the 5:22 mark of the third pe
riod. That netter also capped Montreal’s
string of six unanswered goals as the Cana
diens defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 7-2.
The 1979-80 season marked the last time
Lafleur recorded 50 goals in one year.
