fice responds to many calls
for service every day. The
following incidents are a few
deputies respond to each day.
Man drives into fence be
fore being arrested for DUI
Deputies received reports
about a car driving recklessly.
They located the car as it
pulled into a parking lot and
crashed into a fence.
Deputies approached the
car and found three people
inside. They told the backseat
passenger to roll down the
window and he refused to
roll it down. The person in
the front passenger seat got
out of the car and started to
come toward the deputies,
even though the deputies told
him to stay in the car.
Deputies drew their tasers
and kept telling him to get
back in the car. The passen
ger never listened to what the
deputies were telling him.
Deputies determined all three
people were intoxicated. The
driver was arrested for Driv
ing Under the Influence and
Driving While Unlicensed.
The passenger was ar
rested for Obstruction for
completely ignoring the
deputies and refusing to get
back in the car.
Man runs from deputies
into the woods during traf
fic stop
Deputies stopped a car
after they found out the
driver had a suspended li
cense. When the car stopped,
the driver got out of the car
and ran into the woodline.
Deputies chased after him
and kept yelling for him to
stop running, but the driver
ignored the deputies.
Deputies went back to the
car and spoke with two peo
ple that were passengers in
the car. Deputies also found
the driver's license, so they
knew exactly who the driver
was. Deputies searched the
woodline and areas around
the woodline, but could not
find the driver of the car.
Warrants for Obstruction and
Driving on a Suspended Li
cense were issued for the
driver.
Couple blames phone mal
function for 911 call, evi
dence of confrontation
Deputies arrived at a
house because of a 911 hang
up call. When they spoke
with the couple at the house,
the man said that call was an
accident and happened be
cause the emergency SOS
feature on his wife’s phone
was activated when the
phone froze.
Deputies could see a bro
ken lamp and a hole in the
wall. The deputies asked to
speak with each of them sep
arately. When they spoke
with the women, they could
tell that she was heavily
under the influence of alco
hol. She could not remember
many of the events that night,
but said they had an argu
ment. She also said that she
could not remember how the
lamp was broken or how the
hole got in the wall. She said
the argument never became
physical and she was not
scared to stay there. As the
deputies were speaking with
her she kept falling asleep
while trying to tell the story.
Deputies started speaking
with the man who said that
the argument had been going
on for several hours. He said
he planned on leaving the
house to be alone. He said he
had gone inside and threw
the lamp against the wall. He
said the argument never be
came physical and he was not
scared for his safety. Due to
the lack of probable cause, no
charges were filed.
Man suspected to be DUI
drives off while deputies
are speaking with him
Deputies received reports
of a truck driving recklessly.
They found the truck and
tried to stop it. The truck kept
driving like it didn’t notice
the deputies behind him with
the emergency lights and
sirens. Eventually the truck
stopped further down the
road. When deputies got to
the window of the truck, they
started speaking with the
driver and passenger. The
driver acted like he was
under the influence, and he
kept staring over the hood of
his truck. The deputies could
see the truck was not in park
and the driver would still not
make eye contact and kept
staring over the hood of the
truck. Deputies asked the
driver to put the truck in park
several times.
The passenger decided to
move the gear shifter into
park, the driver stomped on
the gas and started spinning
gravel, and took off. He then
raced through an intersection,
almost hitting another car.
The deputies got back in their
car and chased after the
truck.
Finally, the driver decided
to stop the truck and pull
over. The driver was arrested
for Driving Under the Influ
ence, Failure to Maintain
Lane, Obedience to a Traffic
Control Device, Fleeing and
Attempting to Elude.
Traffic stop leads to
methamphetamine arrest
Deputies stopped a car
and started speaking with
both the driver and passen
ger. The deputies ran a check
on both of the driver’s li
censes. They found out that
the driver was on probation
for being in possession of
methamphetamine. When the
deputies asked the driver
when he last used metham
phetamine, the driver told
deputies that it had been at
least 15 years since he used.
The driver looked like he was
under the influence of some
thing, so the deputies asked
to search the car and the
driver gave them permission
to search the car.
During the search, they
found marijuana and a bag of
approximately two grams of
methamphetamine. The
driver was taken to jail.
Man hides in shower to
avoid arrest
Deputies went to a house
looking for a man they knew
had warrants. When they got
to the house, they saw a man
inside the house pulling a
curtain closed. They could
see the back door was open
and they knocked several
times calling out the man’s
name but no one responded.
Since deputies had seen
the man inside the house, his
car was out in front of the
house, and the back door was
open; deputies decided to
enter the house. The deputies
found the man hiding in the
shower. He was arrested for
his warrant.
