25, 2000), HRSA has deter
mined that the Good Samari
tan Health & Wellness Center,
Inc. proposed by Good
Samaritan Health & Wellness
Center, Inc. will have no signif
icant adverse impact on the
quality of the human environ
ment. As a result of this
FONSI, an Environmental Im
pact Statement will not be pre
pared.
The Health Resources and
Services Administration
(HRSA) of the Department of
Health and Human Services
(HHS) provides discretionary
grant and cooperative agree
ment awards to support health
centers expand their capacity
to provide primary and pre
ventive health care services to
medically underserved popu
lations nationwide.
Good Samaritan Health &
Wellness Center, Inc. in
Jasper, GA has applied for
HRSA grant funding. The ap
plicant proposes to use grant
funds to construct a new, 2-
story addition (total 9,200 SF;
a little over 4,000 SF on first
floor) to the existing facility lo
cated at 175 Samaritan Drive.
The applicant has submitted
an Environmental Assessment
(EA) that documents impacts
of the proposed action. This
EA is incorporated by refer
ence into this FONSI.

Dragons Baseball
report
Game 1
The Pickens Dragons
beat the Heritage Generals
5-1 on Tuesday, March
22nd. Pickens fired up the
offense in the second in
ning, when the Heritage
pitchers induced Colby
Brooks to hit into a
fielder’s choice, but two
runs scored.
Connor Shouse got the win
for Pickens Varsity Drag
ons. The ace went five in
nings, allowing zero runs
on one hit and striking out
10. JP Nunn threw one
and two-thirds innings in
relief out of the bullpen.
The Dragons collected
seven total hits. James
Tilley and Trace Ledbetter
each managed multiple
hits for Pickens Varsity
Dragons. Pickens was
sure-handed in the field
and didn’t commit a single
error. Tyler Payne had the
most chances in the field
with 13.
Game 2
Pickens took the lead
late in the game in a 6-4
victory over Heritage on
Friday giving them yet an
other series win in region.
The game was tied at four
with Pickens batting in the
top of the eighth when
Connor Shouse homered
on the first pitch of the at
bat, scoring the game win
ning runs. Shouse col
lected four hits in four at
bats to help lead the Pick
ens Varsity Dragons to vic
tory. Shouse singled in the
third, singled in the fourth,
doubled in the sixth, and
homered in the eighth.
JP Nunn earned the win
for the Dragons. Nunn
went two innings, allowing
zero runs on two hits,
striking out three and
walking zero. James Tilley
started the game for the
Dragons. The fireballer
surrendered four runs on
seven hits over six innings,
striking out eight and
walking one. The Dragons
saw the ball well, racking
up 13 hits in the game.
Pickens was solid again on
defense. They didn't com
mit a single error in the
field.
Game 3
Pickens out-hit Her
itage seven to six, but it
wasn’t enough in a 6-4 loss
on Friday. Harlan Will’s
sac fly in the first scored
one run for the Dragons.
Cason Cannon was on the
hill for the Dragons. Can
non went three innings, al
lowing two runs on one hit
and striking out three.
Trey Payne and Tate Hales
entered the game from the
bullpen, throwing two in
nings and one inning re
spectively.

Tennis wraps up regular
season play this week. The
girls won against Gilmer
last Thursday 3-2. Amanda
Nelson pulled out a huge
win at #2 singles in a third
set tie breaker. Makayla
Kirchoff won at #3 singles
and Kate Wigington and
Sofia Perez won at #2 dou
bles.
As of March 28 the
girls are 7-6 overall and 3-
2 in the region. They will
face Creekview on
Wednesday, March 30 at
home and travel to Villa
Rica High School to play
Central Carrollton on
Thursday, March 31. This
will conclude regular sea
son play.
The boys lost a tough
one against Gilmer. Holton
Kaul went three sets at #1
singles and lost in a close
tie-breaker. The boys are
currently 1-12 overall and
1-4 in the region. They
will face Central Carroll
ton on Thursday, March 30
as well at Villa Rica High
School.
The region tournament
is at Lakeshore Park in
Dalton on April 11th- 12th
starting at 9 a.m.
