Weekly Storytime - April 20, 10:30 a.m.
Join Miss Crystal at Pickens County Recreation De
partment (1329 Camp Road) in classroom #1 for story
time. Enjoy tech-themed stories on April 6, “duck” into
story time on April 13, and get hipping and hopping on
April 20. There will be a themed craft to go along with
the stories. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

“Ask Us! ” Sessions at Your Local Library
Our new “Ask Us!” Sessions allow visitors to receive
one-on-one help by reserving time (up to 30 minutes per
session) with a library staff member in person, by phone,
or virtually. Sessions can be reserved by calling your li
brary or by visiting SequoyahRegionalLibrary.org and
clicking “Contact Us”. Our staff can help you learn to use
library technology, access e-Library services, learn basic
computer skills, and more. Normally librarians help peo
ple find books, but this is your chance to “book” a librar
ian.
Don Keeter honored for service with
Limestone Valley Conservation District
GACD Group 1 Vice President Wes Fogle, Don Keeter,
Denney Rogers, and Joey Wells.
GACD has been lucky to
have a number of individuals
willing to make long-term
commitments as District Su
pervisors on the boards of
their local Conservation Dis
tricts. We appreciate the tire
less efforts made by District
Supervisors in conserving,
protecting, and improving
the natural resources in their
local areas. GACD recog
nizes District Supervisors
each year for dedication to
their local Conservation Dis
trict and natural resources
conservation in the state of
Georgia. Supervisors who
reach 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50
service year milestones re
ceive a pin of service.

ulate Don Keeter of Chero
kee County for serving 10
years as a District Supervisor
in the Limestone Valley Con
servation District.

The Easter Bunny paid a visit to the Community Thrift
Store last Saturday, waving at guests and posing with those
who wantedfor a keepsake photo. Old and young alike took
a moment to sit on bunny’s lap and each was rewarded with
a special egg and candy. Smiling for the camera are store
volunteer Kelly Knight and grandchildren from the Cobb
family out of Dahlonega: Grayson (age 3), Logan (age 6)
and Braydon (age 9). Easter Bunny was Julia Smith.

Young Life hosts spring
sporting clay shoot Friday
Spring is here which
means the 2nd annual Young
Life Pickens County Sport
ing Clay shoot is upon us.
The event will be held on
Friday, April 22 at Garland
Mountain Sporting Clays,

fees: 4-member team, $800;

nifer currently teaches first
grade at Harmony Elemen
tary and has attended many
leadership seminars as well
as continuing to work on her
Master’s Degree from Pied
mont University.

nifer for being selected by
the state organization for this
honor. Beta Eta is the local
chapter of Delta Kappa
Gamma, an honorary society
for women educators.
Adam Massey inducted

was recently initiated into
The Honor Society of Phi
Kappa Phi, the nation's old
est and most selective all-dis
cipline collegiate honor
society. Massey was initiated
at University of Georgia.
Massey is among approx

Phi Kappa Phi each year.
Membership is by invitation
only and requires nomination
and approval by a chapter.
Only the top 10 percent of
seniors and 7.5 percent of
juniors are eligible for mem

graduate degrees may also
qualify, as do faculty, profes
sional staff and alumni who

Walnut Muffins
Ingredients
2 cups approximately, fine almond
flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
3 eggs ***
2 tablespoons Rooster’s Market Wal
nut olive oil
1/4 cup honey ***
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
*** found at Rooster’s Market
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees and
grease or line muffin tin.
Combine the almond flour, baking
soda, and sea salt in a large bowl.
Combine eggs, olive oil, honey, and
apple cider vinegar in a medium
bowl. Stir wet ingredients into dry in
gredients, then fold in the walnuts.
Using a large scoop, fill muffin
cups 3/4 full.
Bake for 20 minutes or until
golden brown and toothpick inserted
in center comes out clean. Cool on a
wire rack
