Obituaries
Warren Leverett
Warren Edward Leverett,
71, of Jasper, GA passed
away on Good Friday April
15, 2022, (Two years to the
date after his mother died)
after an unexpected and brief
illness. Graveside services
will be on Friday, April 22 at
3 p.m. at the Fort Gaines, GA
Cemetery and visitation will
be at the Lunsford Funeral
Home in Cuthbert, GA on
April 22 at a time TBA.
Friends and family are in
vited to attend.
Bom on January 3, 1951 in Cuthbert, Georgia, Warren was
preceded in death by his parents William H. Leverett, Sr. and
Eva Marjorie Sanders Leverett, and nephew Richard W. Lev
erett. He is survived by siblings: Carey O. Leverett, William
H. Leverett, Jr (Jean), and Donna; Nephews: Nicholaus G.
(Claire), Jonathan W. (Sara), and Scott Leverett, as well as,
two grand-nieces and three grand-nephews.
He resided in Edison, Georgia until 1955 when he moved
with his family to Marietta, Georgia. He spent most of his
life in Cobb County, and in the last 20 years resided in Pick
ens County, Georgia. He was a Christian and former member
of Marietta First Baptist Church.
He first attended Fairhaven School in Atlanta, GA and
later graduated from Campbell High School, Smyrna, GA.
He retired from the Cobb County Public School System. He
also worked for Cobb EMC, Six Flags Over Georgia, and
Publix Super Markets. He attended Burnt Mountain Center,
where he made many friends.
Though Warren was keenly aware of his developmental
delay affliction, he courageously faced the world, every day.
He was a kind, thoughtful, adventurous, fun-loving, mild-
mannered, shy, but a friendly, gentle soul without a mean
bone in his body. He loved children, and animals, especially
horses, dogs, and cats. He had many friends.
He was an avid NASCAR race fan, and he once met his
favorite driver, Richard Petty.
He had a consuming interest in horses and had the privilege
of volunteering for Angels on Horseback therapeutic horse-
riding organization in Jasper for a number of years. He be
came fast friends with the director, and after hours, they often
went on trial rides together or drove to pick up hay for the
horses.
Additionally, he occasionally spent time at the Star Eques
trian horseback therapy Center in Washington County, Mary
land.
He enjoyed going to Cowboy Church in Fairmount, GA.
One of Warren’s proudest accomplishments was training
for an entire year for the Special Olympics and winning a
gold medal in the S.O. Equine Trail Riding Event.
He loved driving his red car, red flowers, riding roller
coasters and scary rides, playing put-put, and going to amuse
ment parks, especially Six Flags, Disney World, and Dolly
Wood.
He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Hailette Mulkey
Hailette Mulkey, 78, of Ball Ground, GA passed away,
Saturday, April 16, 2022. Mrs. Mulkey loved her family,
cooking, and shopping.
Hailette is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Keri
Mulkey. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Fred
Mulkey, Sr; son Fred Mulkey, Jr. and wife Lori, of Holly
Springs, GA; son Bryan Mulkey, of Ball Ground, GA; sister
Carolyn Anderson and husband Walton, of Hull, GA; brother
Charlie Brown and wife Charleen, of Elberton, GA; grand
daughter's Brooke Mulkey; Leah Mulkey; Kerrie Beatty;
great granddaughter Maddison Beatty.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 23 from 12 til the 2 p.m.
service in the Chapel of In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals
and Cremations, 481 Noah Drive, Jasper, Georgia 30040.

passed away, Thursday, April

John Moser III
June 10, 1962 -
April 9, 2022
Mr. John Moser III, 59, of
Keyser, WV, passed away
Saturday, April 9, 2022 at his
residence.
Mr. Moser is survived by
his father, John "Jack" Moser
II of Toccoa; mother, Alice
Abbott of Jasper; brothers,
Delbert Sicklesmith, and
James Abbott; sisters, Joyce
Abbott, Lana Moser, and
Michelle Evans; several
nieces and nephews; and his companion, Carrie Martin and
family.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April
16, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery, with
Rev. Tony Boyd officiating.
Pallbearers: Dalton Abbott, Tristan Abbott, Allen Miller,
Stanley Miller, Gary Abbott, Sr, and James Abbott. Honorary
pallbearer: Delbert Sicklesmith.

Kenneth Garrison
Kenneth Wayne Garrison, 43, of Jasper, GA, passed away,
Thursday, April 14, 2022. No services are planned at this
time. Care and trust placed with In Their Honor of Jasper.

Larry Starr
Lawrence (Larry) Black-
well Starr, 76, went home to
be with his heavenly Father
on April 18, 2022 passing
with peace and surrounded
by his family.
He was bom in Savannah,
Georgia and moved to Jack
sonville, Florida as a child.
He graduated from the Uni
versity of Florida and subse
quently joined the US Army
serving as a 1st Lieutenant in
Korea.
Moving his family to
Jasper, Georgia in 1979, he
worked for the Georgia Mar
ble Company in Tate for 20
years before finishing his ca
reer as the Executive Director of Community Assistance Re
sources and Emergency Services (CARES) in Pickens
County.
During his more than 40 years of community engagement
in Pickens, Larry was actively involved in civic organiza
tions, youth sports, student mentorship, Royal Ambassadors
and global mission work. He served God as a Sunday school
teacher, deacon and elder and was an active member of
Mountain View Community Church.
Larry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Joyce
Pitchford Starr; daughter, Krista Starr Williams and husband,
David; daughter, Jenny Starr Jones and husband, Jeff; son,
Paul Pitchford Starr and wife, Heather; grandchildren,
Dakota Williams, Micah and Caroline Jones, Haley, James
and Olivia Starr. Larry is also survived by his brothers and
sister-in-law, Ralph Starr Jr., David Starr, and Phillip and
Nancy Starr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Hardman
Starr Sr., Virginia Blackwell and Irene Avera.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April
21, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev
erend John Lagana and Reverend Ed Pottorff officiating. In
terment will be Saturday, April 23 in Haleburg Cemetery in
Haleburg, Alabama.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral
Home, Wednesday, April 20 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and
Thursday, April 21 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CARES at
PO Box 1342; Jasper, Georgia 30143.
Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral
Home and Crematory in Jasper, Georgia and Holeman Head
land Mortuary in Headland, Alabama.

Jasper, passed away Sunday,
April 10, 2022 at his resi
dence.
Mr. Dillard is survived by
his wife, Kelli Dillard of
Jasper; father, Clint Dillard;
sons, Thomas (Tad) Dillard
of Jasper, and Cory Watson
of Decatur; sister, Cynthia Braverman.
Funeral services were held at 2
p.m. Thursday, April 14,2022 at Cagle
Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor
Zack Carden officiating.
Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in
Canton at a later date.
