"I Could Have Gone to Nashville,"
but show will be on Tater Patch stage in September
Ga. Attorney General warns of
bogus calls from scammers pos
ing as law enforcement officials
After far too long a wait
and various setbacks, Tater
Patch Players is bringing you
a new show. Notjustashow
— a musical. It's called Nun-
sense: Jamboree! Make plans
to see zany, "Laugh-In" style
comedy as Sister "Mary Am
nesia" takes her second coun
try album, "I Could Have
Gone to Nashville" on a
whirlwind promotional tour.
And it all kicks off at Tater
Patch Players, at 95 Philadel
phia Lane, right here in little
old Jasper, opening Septem
ber 30. Come see Nunsense
Jamboree by Dan Goggin.
If you saw our production
of Nunsense back in 2015,
you'll remember the remark
able Little Sisters of Hobo
ken. They're back and they
have further and zanier ad
ventures. Sister Mary Paul
(who used to be referred to as
Mary Amnesia) has her
memory back. And what she
remembers best is all those
great country music classics
she grew up with. Mother Su
perior got her a recording
contract and her career blos
somed. Now she's about to
release an album and that
means taking her show on the
road for a preview. What bet
ter way than through an old-
fashioned Jamboree and
some great songs. Patsy
Cline would be so jealous.
Let us tell you that it does
n't matter at all if you saw the
previous Nunsense. This is a
completely separate show,
with just a few characters
carrying over.
You'll quickly get to know
them: Sister Mary Paul, Mary
Leo and Robert Anne. These
three are joined by two new
characters: Mary Leo's
brother, who's also a Father,
and Sister Mary Wilhelm.
The show is being co-di-
rected by Audrey Kirsten and
Jan Simpson, and the music
director is Susan Gooch, who
was last at Tater Patch as An
tonia in Man of La Mancha.
The cast are all experienced
and are already polishing up
their roles in rehearsal. Mary
Paul is played by Nancy Loy,
Mary Leo by Phyllis Zerkle,
Mary Robert by Deb Grecol,
Mary Wilhelm by Suellen
Reitz and Father Virgil
Manly Trott by Alex
Nawrocki. Your favorite pup
pet nun, Sister Mary Annette
will make an appearance too.
As opening night ap
proaches, we will tell you
more about the cast and crew.
Tickets are on sale now on
line at www.taterpatchplay-
ers.org/buy-tickets.
You can also buy them in
person beginning one hour
before the curtain goes up on
any performance date. Share
Night, our final Dress Re
hearsal and a "TaterShare"
event, will be 9/29 at 7:30.
The regular performance
dates are September 30, Oc
tober 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16.
The shows times are 2 p.m.
on Sundays and 7:30 p.m. for
all other shows. If you have
any questions, please contact
the theater at 706-253-2800
and leave a message or email

What to know:
• In most cases, law enforcement will not call you if a
warrant has been issued for your arrest.
• Additionally, law enforcement will never allow for
arrangements to be made over the phone to clear a war
rant and will not take any forms of payment over the
phone for warrants.
• A real warrant is a court-ordered document authorizing
any and all law enforcement agencies to arrest the named
person, so they can appear before a judge and answer for
the given charge.
Jury duty scam: This is one of the most common types
of scams where criminals pose as law enforcement offi
cials. This type of scam is similar to officer imperson
ation scams in that the scammer claims a warrant has
been issued for your arrest. The scammer then may ask
you for confidential information for “verification” pur
poses, such as your Social Security number, date of birth
or credit card number. This personal information could
be used to open new accounts and/or apply for credit
cards in your name.
What to do:
If you encounter an officer impersonation scam, hang
up and contact local law enforcement directly to file a re
port. Georgians can also contact the Georgia Attorney
General’s Consumer Protection Division at (404) 651 -
8600 or file a complaint online.

ATLANTA - Attorney General Chris Carr is warning
consumers about an imposter scam where con artists pose
as local law enforcement officials in an attempt to add
credibility to their schemes. This alert follows recent re
ports of an officer impersonation scam targeting Geor
gians around the state.
“Scammers are using technology to impersonate le
gitimate law enforcement officials and intimidate Geor
gians into turning over their hard-earned money,” said
Carr.
“What may seem like an abrupt or hasty phone call
from a local officer may be an attempt by a fraudster to
steal your personal or financial information. Knowledge
is your best defense, and we encourage all consumers to
learn how to recognize and report this type of scam.”
Con artists are using phone spoofing technology to
make it appear as though you are receiving a call from a
legitimate law enforcement agency. In one reported sce
nario, the imposters claim that the potential victim was
summoned to a federal grand jury and missed the court
date. Because of this, the individual is told that they must
report to a local law enforcement office for bond and to
“process the paperwork.” To resolve the issue, the per
petrators instruct the potential victim to go to a retail store
and buy “bond vouchers” in the form of gift cards.

volunteered at two summer
blood drives for the Ameri
can Red Cross.
I, Reece Wheeling, Jordan
Autrey, and Nola Chester
along with the amazing Red
Cross employees worked the
first summer drive on June
14th at Mount Zion Church,
where we had an amazing
outcome of 31 participants.
Thank you, Pastor Mock, for
supporting our organization
by allowing us to hold the
drive.
On July 8th, we held our
second blood drive at the
Pickens County Recreation
Dept., where we had the op
portunity to work with our
HOSA advisor Mrs. Zuidema
and former club member
Sofie Perez.
Once again we had over
30 participants, collecting
over 36 units of blood ex
ceeding our goal of 25!
Thank you, Rec. Dept. Di
rector Brian Jones, for allow
ing us to hold the drives at
the county building.
Holding these blood
drives are extremely impor
tant for our community. Not
only do we get the chance to
learn and volunteer our time
but we also connect with the
people in our area.
You get the chance to save
three lives with just one do
nation. According to the
American Red Cross our na
tion is in a severe shortage of
blood, this can potentially
lead to a patient not receiving
the proper care.
Anyone from the age of
sixteen (with parental con
sent) and older can donate as
long as they meet the require
ments that can be found on
the website www.redcross-

medications or medical is
