Model Railroaders launch
youth program
The Tri-State Model Rail
roaders (TSMRI), headquar
tered in the historic Mineral
Bluff Depot, 150 Railroad
Avenue in Mineral Bluff,
GA, are proud to announce
the formation of a Youth Pro
gram.
Youth members will have
the opportunity to ran model
trains on the Club’s layout
that models railroading in the
Tri-State region during the
time period 1948 - 1950. The
club is also an excellent place
to learn about building a
model railroad layout
(ground cover, trees, build
ings, storytelling, etc.) in
cluding the opportunity to
leam about digital (yes Digi
tal) control of model trains.
In addition to all that, the lay
out is an excellent place to
just have fun and operate
trains.
The youth members will
have most of the advantages
of a full membership but at
little or no cost. Additionally,
the youth group will have
special meetings geared to
their interests. To top it off,
TSMRI will provide mentors
in almost every aspect of
model railroading.
This is a real opportunity
for any young person inter
ested in learning about model
railroading. Not convinced
yet? If you are a youth age 7
through 17 you are invited to
attend the first organizational
meeting on Friday, August 26
at 7 p.m. and find out for
