Candied Sweet Potatoes
INGREDIENTS
3 lb.sweet potatoes (about 5 medium), peeled and
cut into 1/2-inch thick rounds ***
1/2 c.light brown sugar
6 tbsp.unsalted butter, melted ***
1/4 c.maple syrup
11/2 tsp.kosher salt
1 tsp.ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp.ground ginger
Pinch of nutmeg
2 tsp.bourbon

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 400°. Whisk together the brown
sugar, butter, maple syrup, 1 tablespoon of water, salt, cinna
mon, ginger, and nutmeg in a large bowl, plus bourbon. Add
the sweet potatoes to the sugar mixture and toss to coat. Pour
into 13-by-9-inch casserole dish. Spread the sweet potatoes
into an even layer and pour any leftover sugar mixture over
them.
2. Bake the sweet potatoes until tender and the sauce thick
ens into a glaze, 45 to 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Amber Forsyth graduated
from the U.S. Coast Guard
Training Center at Cape May,
NJ Nov. 10, 2022 as a Fire
man Apprentice.
She will be stationed on a
270-foot Coast Guard cutter
based out of Portsmouth, VA.
She is the daughter of Brian

Apple a Day food pantry
had a food drive at Pendley
Creek Brewing company.
Daniel and Pam Briordy of

We are thankful for all of the
patrons who donated food. It
was so much appreciated.

Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3
organization. We are located
physically at 612 East
Church Street in the suite B.
We officially opened No
vember 19 Saturday. We will
be open from 9 to 12 every
Saturday.
We are having our grand
opening for the public Satur
day, December 3 from 9 a.m.
to noon. We are giving out
free sausage biscuits for each
